Wrong to call him "stupid" and "silly"? Yes, of course he was. He let the club down with those personal attacks on a professional. Was his motive wrong? Get to ****.
I don't know about 'Manager of the Month', but big hard Nigel has definitely won 'Biggest Laughing Stock of the Season' and if Leicester's supporters can't see that we get to have a giggle at them too.
I suspect he was a tad worried about the effects of global warming on fertility levels in Ostrich populations...
To point out that the journalist was wrong and to publicly stand up when other managers would give in to the media's demand.
Leicester City have a big match against Newcastle United tomorrow. Given Newcastle's recent form Leicester will be favourites to win it. They finished the Chelsea match looking tired and have a number of injuries. Their unbeaten run has come to an end and they can still be relegated. If Pearson hadn't opened his mouth all the talk would be about the disappointment of not getting something from the Chelsea match, what injuries were picked up, how tired the players looked in the second half, would the players pick themselves up for Newcastle, what a big match it is going to be etc. Instead we are talking about birds that don't fly, whether Nigel was drunk, sand, flexibility, did he apologise and some patronising BBC reporter suggesting he could be manager of the month if he just played the game properly. I would say young Mr Pearson has done a good job of deflecting attention from what will be a massive match in Leicester's push to stay up. He may even do impressions of the journalists to lighten the mood amongst the players. His job is to keep Leicester up, something he's seems to be doing very well.
You've got to fancy Lester to beat the Mags tomorrow...That coupled with us getting a point vs Arsenal (yes, I am dreaming) will take us above the Mags and bring them into the corridor of uncertainty.
Leicester are 10/11 to win. Newcastle are 3/1. (City are a best price of 9/2 to beat Arsenal, btw. They're 8/11 to win.)
It's this strange thing about sports fans. A team wins a few in a row and they are the best thing since sliced bread, a team losses a few in a row and they are guaranteed to lose every game and will be relegated. Leicester won a few in a row and people seemed to think that meant they were safe and we're going to win all their remaining games. It wasn't going to work that way and it won't be the case that they win their final 4. Newcastle lose 7 in a row and people seem to think they are going to lose 11 in a row. It won't happen that way either. I see Newcastle taking the three points tomorrow, they have the better team and I expect them to win soon so it's tomorrow for me. I think Leicester will do enough to stay up but like all things I don't expect it to be anything other then stressful for their fans so it's a loss for them in their next game. I would put money on it if I wouldn't have to drive an hour to get to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe to make the bet.
It's just what happens. In form side meets well out of form side, expectations raised for the in form home side in whats perceived as a home banker. We proved the rule last weekend when expected in form Palace to give us a drubbing.
I just had a few quid on the Newcastle/City double on BET365 @ 22/1, as we have no game it'll make my Saturday a bit more interesting.
Can't see it, they're in freefall, their Manager isn't good enough and they'll stay up courtesy of early season points. Leicester 2-0
We were in freefall, perhaps not to the same extent, prior to the Palace game. Anything is possible, especially at the beginning and end of the season.
I'm sure I could work it out. I'm not much of a gambler when I go to the casino I sit at the penny slot and spend like 5 bucks over the course of the day and get supper excited when I win like 30 cents. I hit the super big jackpot on a slot once( I can link the pick later) and everyone freaked out and ran over as the lights went crazy and I was really excited and I was like I WON 31 dollars!!! People yelled at me for only playing one cent as I would have won the jackpot on the floor plus the 10,000 the machine paid out if I was playing a buck. So basically I say I would place the bet but I probably wouldn't even if it was next door to me.
