He has rightly ruled out a coalition with the SNP but has not ruled out doing deals for votes. He knows fully well that the SNP and plaid would not back the Tories in any vote in parliament so therefore don't need to saddle himself up with two parties with nothing but self interest for their own countries.......
Dai, he ruled out a deal with Plaid today. That means he would rather see a Tory government go back in rather than doing whatever it took to see them kicked out. Milliband is not a working class man and after last nights debate, I trust him as much as Clegg and Cameron. As Labour leader, he should have said he will do what it takes to form a government that kicks out the Tories.
Sorry valley but your demonstrating here your lack of knowledge of how politics work. You cant form a government with a party I.E Scotland and wales parties for the simple reason these parties don't represent the whole of the UK population and have their own self interest for their own country.....It can never work in parliament in any shape or form and that is why labour who is a party for the whole of GB cant ever form a government with another party who don't represent the uk but only represent their own country.....Think about it.....it cant work....
In definition the Tories, Labour and the Lib dems and even Ukip represents and can canvass votes from every part of the UK.......SNP and plaid cannot so tell me how those two parties could ever represent England or should have the right to govern England...they cant and i say it again this is why any main stream political party cannot form or go into partnership with either the SNP or plaid...it a non starter....
Do you think any UK party does? It's possible for the snp or plaid to be king maker, as it goes on seats, and hey sit in the House of Commons if they win. So Dai I'm sorry mate but you are wrong
I am telling you the reason why the main stream parties cant and wont team up with either the SNP or Plaid......There are too many implications that would arise. What labour or the Tories can do however is do a few deals with either party to make sure they will side with labour in any commons vote and ensure labours policies are pushed through.....As for having a SNP or Plaid as deputy prime minister then in no way can that ever work...
Conservatives and UKIP as their policies are right wing, and Labour and the Green Party as their policies are left wing. And liberals as their policies are of whores
But Milliband has said he won't do any deals Dai. He's backed himself into a corner and opened the door for Cameron. Plaid Cymru and the SNP can team together and vote down the Labour or Tory queen speech and ensure that there is no government if the election goes as the polls suggest. If Milliband wants to be PM he MUST do a deal with Plaid and the SNP otherwise it will be Cameron back in for another 5 years. A proper Labour politician would do whatever it takes to keep the Tories out. Milliband is a Tory leading the Labour Party. You want an end to austerity and an improvement for Wales? If yes, vote Plaid because Labour are as conniving and insulting as the Tories. Hell, Milliband even wears a blue bloody tie on TV all the time
The Tories would never team up with the SNP or Plaid even if they could for exactly the same reasons the labour party wont.....It would be political suicide....
The only mainstream national party that is anti austerity is the Green Party , labour, conservatives and the whores are pro austerity. But austerity doesn't work, the reason I vote labour is to try and keep the conservatives out, they are lessor evil in other words
Well if Ed doesn't pull his deluded head out of his arse and do a deal with Plaid, SNP and Greens (if they get any seats), your vote will be wasted I'm afraid.
It's more likely they will deal with the whores if needs be. I am ever hopeful that a government will be formed by a majority though. If the 30% who don't vote actually does then that could be a possibility
If Labour were really for the working class and stood up for us without ruining things every time by blowing the pot of gold the tories built up when it was their turn to fleece us, and stealth tax us to hell to cover thier wild schemes like wars as do the tories that have little to do with the working class but cost our folks lives they would be in for ever ! But the likes of the Blaires having a turn finished any trust in labour for me. If i was selfish then as an employer doing not to bad for myself i could be strangely drawn to them but as a father and knowing how ruthless they are at stripping the ones that can least afford it in our society and for other reasons i could`nt vote for them. Lib Dems not for me either, when people say lilly livered left wing i think of the Libs amongst them and i don`t think they have the bottle to deal with hard issues in our society that need a firmer hand, and would be walked all over by EU if in power and other reasons . soz terror Greens. not a bad lot in and ideal world but we don`t live there ! and a horse and cart instead of my vans would take to long to get work done cant really take them seriously but would`nt mind some of their policies implemented to hold back the big polluters. Plaid ! now that`s where i`m torn on the one hand i believe an independent Wales could be really good if we took ownership of our vast resources and traditionally hard working population we could do very well ? But they need a stronger leader that is both intelligent and has a bit of fire in their belly to hit us all in the heart a bit like the jocks are doing but more ! And they would have to convince me that they don`t think Wales starts and ends in cardiff ! so a maybe for me . UKIP i do like some of their policies a lot of sense and a strait talking leader that will answer a strait question regardless of what spin is put on it by Murdochs mob ! Ozzy point system (yes) Out of EU control ( yes) control our own borders ( yes) jobs for our people first including fishery industry etc back on track ( yes) look after our troops better ( yes) all costed policies that add up without hurting the poorest to much ,and a lot more good ideas that would help us ! and give a kick in the pockets of the establishment parties ! But they need to impress on us that they are able to handle the rest of the jobs they would need to improve like NHS, education and all the rest by having capable people in the posts that we can trust to do it in our interests for a change. So also a maybe for me. I don`t profess to be a savvy political person i just judge on what i see and what iv`e seen for to many years has`nt been that good, always bad news and doom hardly ever a lift for the country to feel good or proud ? so hopefully at last real change is afoot if someone can get in or influence decisions for the good of `US`for a change ! but i wont hold my breath besides in the bigger picture of how the world works we and the very wealthy that are put up for us to vote for have little clout when it comes to the crunch.
A good post, can I just say though is that a lot of what was happening under labour was actually of Gordon Brown's making at the time, he was responsible for the disaster that was his government. As chancellor he brought in stuff like taxation of pensions, which is like taxing people after being mugged. Not saying that Blair wasn't responsible for many things, he was its that simple. But we have the benefit of hindsight to know some of the stuff he did was wrong, like when we know that some stuff the conservatives have done is wrong. For me on this is that I would hope that labour would take a more balanced view on what needs to be done, we know that cutting services fast is not the answer, councils are forced into cuts that is strangling them, our taxes are going up our services are going down. I give you a small example, many years ago I used to go to coedgwylim park, thought it was lovely with a great playground, nice playing fields, good tennis courts, a lovely bowling green and flowers and plants in abundance. Now years later I take my daughter there to play, she enjoys it, but I'm looking at it and thinking this is a shadow of what it was. The playground is awful, the tennis court is a wreck, most of the flowers have gone, the roads and paths are rutted, the bowling green has had its building pulled down, and the playing fields looks like they've had the Cardiff groundsman looking after them My point? Well speaking to a few people and it's because funding has been cut, people no longer look after the park properly, and we are on the verge of it being beyond recovery. So part of the reason why it's like this are the policies of a government who doesn't give a ****k what they cut as long as they can say we done it. What does that do then? Well get kids more cut off from the community, more kids obese, and more kids causing problems as they got nothing to do, so government policies that doesn't give a toss for the next generation.
I have been called a hypocrite for calling the Liberals whores on here, there you go here is an article that basically says that the liberals will back whichever party has the largest vote. Forget policies let's just just jump to the left or right. If that is not akin to whoring I don't know what is http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/apr/16/nick-clegg-history-tories-lib-dem-coalition
Good post Jager but i dont believe a word the red n blues say as when in power they roll over on their promises and do what they want and use the excuse of `we cant do that because EU wont let us ` or their masters or blame the other lot and spin their way out of it while fleecing us and feathering their nests again till the next lot have another turn of doing it ! seeing it happen so often has made me synical i suppose. I know tactical voting to keep one or other out is useful but if i vote i will do it with what i (`misguided as may be`) feel is good for the Brit/Welsh people only. I agree the parks and facilities our forefathers built up for the ordinary people have been untended to long for cut backs and other reasons but they always find funding for their pet projects and schemes ! The nanny state and soft on crime attitude since the 60`s has bred generations of soft easy to manipulate sheep, if we could find leaders that wont take things to far then i believe a bit of tough love to the youth that wreck our parks and think their untouchable would do them good ? plus make prison a place we wouldnt like to visit twice !
