According to a poster on Saints Forum who spoke to Cotterell. JP shares an agent with Mullens and that it's the agent pushing this story. As a player he flatters to deceive. Was unsettled at Plymouth, wanted to leave MK, is disruptive at Saints.Millwall and Blackpool aren't exactly chomping at the bit to resign him. Gave some good performances early on, but was really poor at the start of last season, rumours are he refused to sit on the bench, hence why Nige has frozen him out.
Make no mistake Punchy is a good player, if your manager can weave the same sort of magic he did with your players last year he could be a gem. Loyalty is not his strong point, just hope he doesn't come back and haunt us.
I think he'd be a decent signing for you, and over the first few games of the season you'd reckognise his obvious ability. His aggressive style and threatening forward runs would begin to win over the vociferous elements of the crowd (that blue bloke with a bell), and you'd be prepared to forgive his tendency to give the ball away a bit easily. After a few weeks though, you'd begin to get frustrated with him running about like a deranged cockerel, skying his shots/passes (hard to tell which they be) into row Z.
Any player is a good signing for us at the moment, as we need some depth top the squad, scummer or not!
