Shouldn't it be "has done one"?

Sad news. Another one who provided the background to growing up gone. Saw him in Leeds back in 1967.
Loved the story from around that time that a producer wanted him to be more into Wilson Pickett and James .brown type soul who said to him " This is the bit where you let out a scream". He replied No it isn't. I am a singer".
One of the first records he sang on I knew, courtesy of some older girl nearby who used to blast it out, was this one.

RIP Ben E. King, a man who used much of the profit from Stand By Me to help others!

Even an in memoriam thread isn't exempt from the childish name calling.

    RIP Ben E King.

When I was countless years younger, I remember my late mum trying to sing along to The Drifters singing "Save the last dance for me." Unfortunately, as she tried to emulate Ben E King, her false teeth shot out.

So why didn't you remove the first post from Patty? He seriously have thought it was referring to BB King. Especially when there were a number of Ben E King songs already on when he made his post.Either he is spectacularly dense or he was on a wind up.

As I said in an earlier post, went to see him in Leeds in 1967. The girl I was going out with at the time kept wittering about wanting a drink. Finally, just as he was about to sing Save The Last Dance For Me, one of my favourites of his, I lost patience and shoved a ten bob note at her and told her to sod off and get a drink then. End of relationship. And, looking back, a bit stupid. You could buy 5 pints for ten bob back then.

Hull's very own Ronnie Hilton. (OLM, maybe you could play if for Palimpest next time he goes on about East Riding flaskers and Premier League whores as an example of a Hull born person).
