I did fruit picking as a kid at Tiptree for the jam people, obviously the work was seasonal but we were given 40 hour fixed rotas on a temp basis. I was guaranteed 2 or 3 months work . A zero hour contract means you have no guarantees from day to day, this only suits the employer and exploits the worker. They should be banned especially when abused by massive companies .
If they are so evil then I wonder why the last Labour Government didn't ban them after all they had 13 years in which to do it!
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/01/world/uk-election-british-government-coalition-builder/index.html Build your own British Government If you go by the projections on that, the Tories cannot form a government. They're gonna have to sure up a whole lot of seats.
But there is no way that a food producer can work with temporary contracts when the orders from supermarkets and the like are so sporadic! That is what I mean when I say the modern working world is different. What about agency workers? Do you disagree with that to? Is that the fault of the Coalition government? I don't agree that zero hour contracts should be ditched, in fact some people actually like them as it gives them more flexibility. Also, zero hour contracts are not a creation of the Conservative party. It's something that has been going on for years and not something that you could blame one political party for and not the other. Incidentally we look after all the weighing equipment at Wilkin and Sons. Nice place, like going back in time there.
I can't help feeling that all this is building towards a Labour/SNP coalition that will result not only irresponsible borrowing but also a breaking up of the UK. The SNP will only have one objective. To get out of the UK. If that's what you want fair enough but I don't and it won't be pretty if they both get in. Maybe a Lab/Lib dem coalition would be better so Nick Clegg can use his brain to make up for the lack of Dave's. Did anyone see the Brand interview, OMG! made me cringe with posh boy Miliband with his £3m house trying to talk with aint's and street slang. uurrrggghhh.
You don't want to break up the UK, but would you want to break free of the EU? They are all as bad as each other in my eyes and all just have views for the short term with no long term plan. Sadly that is often the case for governments on 5 year cycles. Doesn't matter what you leave in the long term, its all about short term gains.
No? Where did you get from? The scots had a vote on independence and they said no, they had their chance to make their choice and it was a clear no. We should all have a choice on Europe, like the Scots did with independence so I'm not against the idea of a vote. Let the people decide. It's amusing that Miliband wants to take the choice away from the people. It's like he doesn't trust them to make the right choice. I think that the Scottish have had a vote and it's all been settled. The SNP's only objective is to break up the union, they don't give a toss about anything else.
Sorry, I wasn't. It's just the way it came across in writing! I keep getting interrupted and forget where I am writing things, sorry.
A referendum is just a stupid, expensive distraction. We all know that business wont want to leave,it's the reason why big multinationals have set up in the UK, Cameron certainly won't leave. Part of me wants to see him win narrowly and then have to deal with the SNP. I see The Tories have been caught slipping an "undecided" voter into the debate who is the business partner of a Tory MP. Cheats!
TBH Kemp when the Jocks had their referendum I wanted them to vote 'No' as I hated the thought of the UK being broken up. Now however I've changed my mind and if the opportunity arose for English independance I would definitely vote for it. As I've said before, the fact that a tinpot nation of just 5M people could well hold the rest of the UK to ransom beggars belief. The SNP come across as an arrogant bunch who believe that Scotland has always been the UK's poor relation, poppycock ! They have it far better than us, free prescriptions, free hospital car parking, no tuition fees, I could go on. And who's paying for all of these privilages ? Not North Sea oil that's for sure, it's us the ENGLISH tax payer. **** 'em, re-build that bloody wall, cut all ties VOTE EIP
I don't really understand your question. They can't "Get in" as such can they? There are only 59 Scottish seats in total ,so even if they were to win all of them they are not in a position to actually do anything. I think if they hold the balance though they will play merry hell.
You don't need to ban them entirely, they do work for some people, such a seasonal worker in Kemp's field. I do think anyone is suggesting they are banned or made illegal - it's more the rate of how much they have increased under this government in a **** attempt at trying to convince people that they are reducing unemployment that people don't like.
You're right of course they can't get in and I'm not convinced they will get all 59 Scottish seats, however their is nothing to stop them fielding candidates in England in future elections.
They wouldn't get many votes would they? For some reason The English don't seem to like the Scots and vice versa. Seems silly to me,the Scots I know are ok. Pretty ironic that JWM has it in for them though.
