Junior Lewis in my living memory was up there with the worst, but you guys being older have probably seen worse than that (if possible. I didn't think Sneekes was that bad. Sergio Leite was pretty dire in goal. He came with a decent rep, or so I was told and he turned out to be solid crap.
I remember when we signed Sergio Leite. The daily fail informed us he was portugals fourth choice keeper. Their logic being that as Leite had been Portugal U21 keeper three years previously, some how this meant he was next in line after the three keepers in the senior squad?! What a **** rag!
Junior Lewis is by far the worst city player I've seen. I do remember him scoring with his left foot from outside the box at the KC though. Him falling over as he struck it probably made the shot a million times more accurate too which sums him up as a player.
Knees Up Nicky Brown was an ace song though. And he was mega when he played as an emergency striker, from memory he seemed to bang them in Paul Warhurst style!
Actually I just found out David Brown scored 21 goals for us (123 appearances). How he managed that is a mystery. He's in the conferance with Wrexham at the moment. How long can we keep this thread going fellas; there is a rich vein to tap.
Thought it was "knees up Linton Brown"? For someone really crap called Brown, how about Andy? Supposedly a striker, the best game he played for us was as an emergency keeper at Lincoln.
Ricardo Vaz Te Jon Parkin Sonko Macca Harper Simon Walton Daryl Duffy Garica Manucho Mclean Kilbane(when on left wing, left back was okay) Cullen Altidore Bridges Sam Collins Danny Coles Rowan Vine Ryan France Ben Burgess Bernard Mendy There, 20 players worse then Zaki in the last 5 years.
Vaz Te was pretty bad. I remember him having a fair bit of pace but not actually being able to control or kick a football very well at all. Parkin was decent! He was big, strong and could finish. No way should he be on here. The only good points I could point out in Sonko was that he had a giant throw. Mcshane isn't that bad. He's just used as a scapegoat because of his silly wages. He's good cover for this level. Harper's just Harper, but not one of the worst to wear a city shirt. Walton was pretty shocking. He came with a decent rep and never really performed. Thankfully it was just a loan. Duffy came with a decent rep too. Everyone thought he would bang them in. Sadly it was not to be. Garcia should not be anywhere near this list. He's a good player who also tries his hardest for the team. Manucho was dog ****e. Over rated because he came from Man U. Mclean I'm undecided on to be fair. Some of his misses were dire but he comes with a good record. I like Killer. He just has no pace anymore and to be fair I prefer him at left back to Dawson. I dislike Cullen. I don't think he has it in him to be a top player for the club. Altidore was again good. I won't even go into this again. Bridges was ok, but way past his best when he joined us. Collins was shocking. Coles was shocking. Vine wasn't very good. I liked France. I don't know why but I just did. Burgess was good for us in league one. Bagged a fair amount of goals to help us get promoted. Dunno why he's on here. I hated Mendy with a passion. No way was he one of the worst players I've seen in a city shirt but he was by far the laziest. The fact you don't have Junior Lewis on here appalls me.
How's Ben Burgess in there? He did the business for us in the lower divisions. Him and Allsopp were terrific in our promotion season. I'd say Richie Appleby, Danny Coles, Alton Unwell, Richard Sneekes, Jason Van Blerk, Manucho, Matt Glennon, Junior Lewis, Tony Warner, Michael Brown, Mark Lynch to name a few. I forgot Simon Walton. Good shout.
Burgess, Parkin, France and Mendy should be nowhere near that list, France was nothing special but rarely let us down, Burgess and Parkin both did some good stuff for us and Mendy, for all he was completely bonkers and went AWOL in some games, was spectacularly good in others and provided some of the best moments of our foray into the Premier League.
Some VERY strange choices on this thread, that leave me to think a lot of posters on this board have a very limited experience of HCFC, both in terms of length of service and in knowledge of what they have witnessed when thay have attended. To be frank anyone who thinks the likes of Richard Garcia, James Harper, Paul McShane and Aaron McLean are amongst the worst to have ever worn the shirt would be better served keeping their mouths shut. It's embarrassing!
