It certainly hasn't been handled very well by the club, but why the **** anyone would want to criticise the people on here who have been trying to get things sorted is lost on me.

Whatever; asking me what action or ideas I've contributed is still irrelevant. I'll tell you what I haven't done, though - moaned to the point of distraction about the way people on here have handled it.

You really need to give it a rest mate.

If you could be arsed to read what I wrote you would be aware that it is the club I criticised, no one else. Dutch decided to take it to heart and spin it out differently, although all of the nonsense he wrote can now be clearly verified as nonsense. I responded as I have to you, as you did to me.

To be fair, Polly, there have been plenty of threads on here where you have posted endlessly when it suited your agenda. Pot Kettle, lazy posting.

You really need to get your facts right, mate.

We all post when it suits our agendas, and we all get slated when it pisses others off. C'est la vie.

Well speaking for myself I have always given credit to those on here for giving their free time to sort the banners and flags. All my critisism has been of the way the club has acted. Strangely enough I have recieved a fair bit of flak on this topic from a few. If that few were gullable, naive, misled by staff members of Hull City I don't know, but the club has not made the most of an excellent and easy oportunity to forge links between fans and club.

But based on your previous reply, a lot of your understanding of the situation wasn't right.

There's an awful lot the club get very badly wrong. It's just a shame when they get criticised for something they got right on the whole.

My previous reply was the time line one which I said was from memory of the last six months. You corrected my small mistake, the banners first appearance was the New Years Day game not Christmas as i thought.
Then you go on to say it was put in a temporary location because it only arrived that day. Fair enough.
Then despite the club knowing in advance the dimensions it took the club till March or April ( you didn't correct that ) to place it on the control box in the North stand, a place accepted as not ideal but the best available.
I don't see a lot wrong with my understanding.

Nope. It's all on here for anyone that cares to look, but there's probably some stuff to plough through to find it.

There was a mix up, where the flag had been tidied away after a game, but the person that did it hadn't told anyone, and nobody had been tasked to put it out, so they didn't realise it was missing.

The 'club' are several distinct units, arguably, some of the blame lays with me for not being clearer. A few phone calls and texts resulted in a positive meeting with people from several elements and the club offered a resolution and the banners went in the north stand, with the club taking care of putting them up and storing them.

There's a thread on here somewhere where I voiced my frustration, and my messages to the club were less polite. But the reality was, it's not a perfect world, and sometimes things don't go smoothly, but each time that happens, it's an opportunity to learn for next time. To try to turn that into a dig at the club is inaccurate and ignores the good work they did on this.

Believe me, if they'd put obstacles in the way, I'd be letting people on here know.

If for one moment we put aside the elephant in the room, the club has changed this season in the way that supporters are involved. It is almost like there are two clubs in one.
The text in bold, is the big step.

Best i can find is, it was up for the New Years day game v Everton
and next made an appearance either March 14 v Leicester or March 22 v Chelsea.
Lost by the club for at least 10 weeks.
There is good reading in the Flag Poll thread page 9 and on.

I simply cannot see what you are trying to prove with the continuation of this.

Mistakes were made, lessons learnt, different approaches taken and these raised different issues.

These are banners and flags designed and paid for by members of this forum. The club and SMC have taken on board the problems and DMD and Mauled contact the club on the forums behalf. If there is someone who is willing and able to do a better job than has been done, step forward and get on with it.

What more is there to say?

If City let us put it up for the game on March 14th, I reckon I'll be putting that in my CV for the peace envoy to the middle east.

Looking at that thread, it didn't appear for the Newcastle game on the 31st of Jan, nor the Villa game and was back up the next home game against QPR on the 21st of February in a better spot.

Not ideal, but two games rather than the 6 months you mentioned earlier.

That thread also confirms I'm more that willing to criticise the club when I feel it's warranted.

You constantly challenging someone to step forward to change things is vacuous. No one is criticising Dutch or Mauled, it is the club who have made commitments that have been dominated by a reality of no end product.

There have been more excuses than appearances - please, TOM, show me where I am wrong regarding the end product, appearances (good ones preferably) of the flags. It is an easy thing for the club to make promises/arrangements and then not to fulfil them; why don't you try looking back, listing the occasions when the flags were expected to be seen (in a reasonable position) and when that failed to happen - then look for the reasons given (eventually - let's not forget the frustrations posted on here by the organisers).

Why do you think anyone else will achieve any more than Dutch and Mauled? We have the flags we have, some are for supporters to drape, wave, or whatever is expected, but a decent, honest attempt at this met with objections - what could I, Balkan or anyone else do to change that and why should we when we thought it flawed in the first place?

The bigger flags are down to the club and there can be no getting away from that; they have not delivered, although it would not surprise me to see them brought out as a sweetener to recent events. It's all manipulative nonsense on their part and they play well intentioned supporters like a finely tuned fiddle. Anyone who wants to be dragged into this is welcome to the experience, but I would suggest you follow your own advice and get it sorted and stop challenging others to do it for you. From challenging folk for not attending games, to challenging them to work with a business that is not worthy of being worked with, you seem to have adopted some moral platform; it's an anonymous footy board and you need to accept that.

If I tell you, you ignore it or say I'm lying or being duped and continue to spout bollocks like you did in your previous post.

Far better you meet me and the people from the club and ask them directly yourself.

When do you want to go? How about before the Arsenal game?

    Fez,
These are and were the first steps. The involvement in creating an atmosphere at the KC started with the FWG meetings at which there was a suggestion that CTWD would form a group to look at ways to do this. I believe that posters from this forum were to be involved in that, but I have not seen much or anything about it since.
For quite sometime there has been an increase in supporter involvement in the club, ranging from the FWG, SAG and the Ultra's. Most of this has been endorsed by CTWD and now HCST.
The Not 606 Hull City banner is something that has and is attracting interest, not just because of the message, but because of the way that anonymous posters on this board have designed and produced a banner that is cared for and displayed by the SMC, note SMC, not the club. The club's marketing manager James Mooney has been directly involved with this and he is the point of contact for the club.
One of the interesting facts about the Not606Hull City banners and flags is that there was no means of supporters leaving a banner with the SMC and having it displayed. Errors were made by all sides and this was simply down to this all being a new situation and nothing was in place for it.
The term "Learning curve" has been applied to this. At times it has been one step forward and two steps back, but now, it appears that there are small steps moving forward. Dude purchased his own flag and was provided with it, if those around him do not want a banner near them then Dude can conact the SMC

Now don't start twisting my words, I said the banner project began 6 months ago not that it hadn't been on show that long. I have said twice now that I am going from memory as to when the banner was up, you on the other are there negotiating with the club you tell me which games it was on display ( i won't mind being corrected )
I did go to the flag poll thread and the first picture of the banner i found, a link from the Daily Telegraph was posted near to the date of the Leicester game, the next picture was March 28th the banner was shown partly obscured by the standing fans.
