The Brendan Rodgers / Replacement thread

Of those thirteen games, a fair few will be sub appearances so not full games. As for looking at his stats; its a bit harsh. He's play ten of those games this season, have you seen how limp we've been up front? Plus, he may not have actual assists but he has created chances and hit the woodwork a couple of times too. Most young players lack goals and assists when they first break into the side too. I wasn't counting his loan spell, just pointing out that he'd been playing elsewhere prior to getting game time here.

IMO, Ibe is a better player than Sterling at the same age. He has much more to his game and will become a much better player over the next season or two.

 

I think they are just trying to be wits.

Its like sterling wanting 100k... what have yuo done son people ask.. oh i socre one or two and got an england cap or three... great son here be highest earner at club.

In every wak of life you have your CV and get judged on it.

we cna't judge rodgers on cv just cos he gets turned down left and right by players doing just that but we can say oh klopp is **** cos dortmund had a bad year.... oh no.. can't have rodgers replaced for one bad year with a guy who had a bad year...

blah blah blah.

 

I'm not saying he doesn't have potential, all i'm saying is that if Ibe was on another team, would you pay £10m upwards after what he has done so far and be happy with it? I know i wouldn't and i would say the same to any of our up and coming recruits who have had a lot of experience - Bamford, Ake, Lucas Piazon etc. You paid 10m for Can and even he is a potential player (i should have counted him as a hit) and he is far better than Ibe.

HE's on abot possession, taking the game to people, working hard..... then he sends out coutinho with clear instructions to mind the shop on the left and not press cos he's scared ****less moreno will be skinned

Since sahko has been out rodgers has been so worried about the left side he's ended up failing to see his changes have negated a lot of coutinhos ability to get high up.

 

people who accept mediocrity and who wouldn't and i quote "dare to dream" and "enjoy it while it lasts" last year are in NO position to dismiss views aimed at the best for LFC at all times as "haters"

Flanagan is an average player at best. There is no sin in being average but average players don't play top 4. they play for hull.

 

Statistically Hull is not an average football team. They are currently 15th out of 92 full-time professional clubs

Maybe you meant a team like Preston or MK Dons?

I don't think Brod or Flanno are world beaters but I am willing to praise them when they deserve it. As for Flanno, I'd take him over the likes of Mario, Allen, Moreno, Markovic, etc every day of the week so he is far from the weakest link (when fit)

 

in fairness to him i think he could play in prem at an average level
