I don't feel conned. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was wrong to do so. I disagreed with giving him the KC at the time and opposed the name change. Giving him the benefit of the doubt didn't stop me from opposing what he was doing. Mauled's designs look good on the TV, I think that is a plus for which he deserves a lot of credit. As I've said I'm not bothered if they don't say City on them. Assem Allam can claim what he likes but a large number of people have seen through him and are calling for him to go. The way he has treated the community of Hull has shown him in his true light. He and his son do what is moral and right for them. A few flags of City legends isn't going to change that. This is the *** end of his time at City and it could be all over by the end of May if he's a man of his word. I think the ASI money will be swept under the carpet by the Premier league if he sells us soon. An example of practical politics. I have no problem with people having their own views and defending them. I'm not slow at pushing my views down other people's throats. What's good for the gander.... Assem Allam is leaving a legacy of bitterness, with fan against fan, which will take a long time to heel. When I said Assem Allam may have won, this is one of the things I meant. We are arguing amongst ourselves about a set of flags celebrating some of our legends simply because it doesn't say City on them. They are our legends, they are our flags, this is our club. He can claim what he wants but he's already lost thousands of people who gave him the benefit of the doubt. He'll never reclaim them because he'll never apologise to our football club or the community for what he's done.
According to the club, the few quid spent on the flags doesn't come out of the ASI fund, but I don't actually see anything wrong if it had been. The fund is to improve the fan experience, the flags seemed to do that.

ASI money subsidised the stand move. No flags were ASI funded. What he says does seem to fit with what I'd read in various places. The plan seemed to be to be for clubs to come up with a variety of initiatives rather than just reducing tickets. Begs the question why this has only just been anounced.

Now we have an explanation, I have to say I agree with him. Even without it for our away fans there's already a huge sense of entitlement and need. Free travel doesn't bother me, every home game for me is like an away for the most of you. Saving 2 or 5 quid on a ticket? Meh. Improving the ground? Actually, yes a good idea. Even if it's only a small area. I suspect apart from the usual minimal excuse to start foaming at the gob, the real reason for the faux outrage is they've actually done what the fund was for, have done it well and are more than in the PL guidelines for it to the degree they're receiving plaudits for it from other fans and the PL itself.
