Being a Labour man through and through you would think he would love thousands of immigrants coming onto this board! A case of double standards I guess!
Or mine? Which was it with IDS, and can you please tell me something the Tories have actually achieved this parliament?
Both coaltion partners use the other as cover. You can be sure that The Tories on their own would be totally Thatcherite, not the wishy washy benevolent Major type Toryism. They are itching to destroy the public sector. Luckily I don't think they are going to get the opportunity.
This is what I really hate about politics. Most normal people don't agree with every policy a party has. I would think most people probably like some policies of each party, particular the main stream ones. For example you could vote liberal and still want to leave the EU.
For anyone interested (going back a few pages) in the fallacies about austerity, this is excellent by one of the foremost economists in the world: http://www.theguardian.com/business/ng-interactive/2015/apr/29/the-austerity-delusion
Gay marriage. That's why Cameron wants out now. If he gets out now, he'll just be the PM that pushed through gay marriage. If he stays for another term, he'll be the the PM that put the final nail in the coffin of what remains of the public sector.
That was a LibDem policy though - do you really think the Tories would have pushed it through without them?
To be fair to Cameron, I think it was also on his agenda, but he was just about the only Tory to be vocal about it...
It would never have happened under a Tory government without the LibDems involvement though, which was kinda my point
Yeah that's possibly true, but I genuinely don't think we could say. Cameron was an advocate I think as far back as '05 when he was trying to reform the image as the nasty party. There are plenty more sticks to beat them with!
FFS Warky do try and keep up. If you can't post anything that isn't asinine then do us all a favour and don't post at all.
The final nail in the coffin of what remains of the public sector! It's complete illiterate garbage and there is clearly no evidence to back it up. Under this Coalition the NHS has had it's funding increased YoY throughout the parliament and in real terms. The Labour Government privatised more of the NHS while it was in power. If he is going to make spurious claims then at least show the evidence to support his outlandish claims, that's all I'm saying!
I went to an NHS meeting chaired by a range of NHS staff on Tuesday with my GF (she's an accountant at a large London hospital). It is safe to say every single NHS staff member (from support staff to surgeons) completely disagree with your sentiments. NB: however, you are right in that Labour have been/will be almost as bad as the Tories for continual privatisation of the NHS.
