A slightly less anachronistic approach will no doubt help. Times change, Clarkson is simply not acceptable in our brave new world.
Yes. But the BBC may well be better off selling the whole Top Gear rights to whoever wants to take them on. The show has no future without Clarkson - Hammond and May. All 3 have not been sacked. Just not had new contracts offered. R.I.P. Top Gear (on the BBC) nb. what will happen to the last 3 shows (still to be aired) is of ongoing interest.
To the soft left maybe. However to millions worldwide he speaks the truth. Another reason to stop paying the TV licence fee
I fear for you if you think Clarkson 'speaks the truth to millions worldwide', he might entertain them perhaps
James May said he won't be returning to Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson but will continue to work for the BBC - just Hammond then. http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s265/t...-without-jeremy-clarkson.html#~paHrxUeNRyG8NY
Set complete - Richard Hammond has said he's not going to "quit my mates" and has effectively ruled out a return to Top Gear on Twitter. I always thougt, if any, he'd be be one to stay. Good on them standing by each other (not condoning what Clarkson did but it's good they've stood by their friends than money/TV exposure).
Ronnie O Sullivan wants to be Top Gear host according to a report I just read, but only after Clarksons replacement bombs in the job. Surely there must be another midlife crisis buffoon similar to Clarkson who could do the job, Boris Johnson springs to mind or that bald git who hosts news programmes on BBC2-
I thought it was quite interesting all 3 had a meeting, between themselves, to discuss their futures and the 4th member in the meeting was their friend and producer Wilman. Looks like all 4 are planning taking the show (not the name) to another channel
I think this was always going to happen. It makes too much money not to. The BBC only shot themselves in the foot by sacking Clarkson but it was catch 22. He did something that needed punishing him but their punishment only punished themselves.
I don't think they'll take the show elsewhere, I think they'll do something completely different, an probably not as a trio either. Has anyone seen Hammonds recent 'bored' video? It's excellent.
This thread is about Jeremy Clarkson leaving the BBC Not much of a thing really is it?? The thread keeps going. The thread keeps coming back. Now it's 31 pages long, And it's back again..... What does that tell us?
The popularity of Clarkson and the fact Top Gear is the No.1 revenue maker around the globe for the BBC. A programme that the Danny Cohen dislikes so much is so popular with millions worldwide. Pictures of Clarkson and Jodie Kidd having a drink today as rumours starting that Jodie Kidd may take over Top Gear ? With Clarkson - Hammond and May gone and exec.produce Andy Wilman quitting, does Top Gear really have a life anymore ? The world awaits to see what Jezza and co. now come up with elsewhere.
