My point was, if the punishment is cutting off his hand. Cut his hand off or don't, make a decision on whether he is guilty or not. Its gotta be against human rights, you still have to obey the laws of the country you are in and I'm not against that.
Did people still commit murder when we had the death penalty? Of course they did. It doesn't matter what the punishment is because people will still offend and will not even think of what the consequences are. It's the human way. As for Haigh, i agree charge him or set him free. If they haven't enough evidence by now they really haven't got a case. Amazing how Haigh gets all the **** when in reality it's GFH who have screwed us over and are doing their best to cover their tracks.
You're right of course people still committed murder when we had the death penalty but it's impossible to reoffend when you're swinging from a rope It's happened so many times where murderers serve maybe half of a pathetic ten year sentence, are released for 'good behaviour', and murder again.

If you drive around the UAE you will see many high end cars just abandoned in the sand. Could be because it ran out of petrol or had a flat tyre. Those cars will just rot, but nobody will go near them as they want to keep their hands. Theft, larceny and adultery are all minimal ocurrances because people know the penalty for their crimes
