Both Preston and MK will be very aware that ONE of them will miss out on automatic and will be faced with the lottery of the playoffs. I think as Angelic says, nerves will play a big part - and (I think) Chesterfield, Sheff U and Swindon will all be better prepared. Preston or MK (whichever it is) will be extremely disappointed to end up there and it may affect their game.
Wont be playing Millwall next season then. (Or Wigan and Blackpool) Which 3 from the Prem? My bet Burnley, QPR and Sunderland
Agree with those 3 from Prem Wigan will be very strong in League 1 next season - glad we don't have to play Millwall as I hate that game
Preston blew their chance big time. They were poor, and frankly so were Colchester....quite how we conceded 3 there in 20 minutes is a mystery.
Tough on Preston, but MK in fairness did win 9 out of their last 10, drawing the other and you cant argue with that. Even scored more goals than us at the end of the day- If there is any justification, then Preston ought to go up through the play offs, but they are likely to be very much on a downer and will 9 previous failed play off attempts weight heavy? I can still see it being Sheff U, but I thought about this more last night, and more thought who do we want to play most next season to get maximum points. We only got 1 off PNE, 3 off Swindon and 3 off Sheff U and these were 3 of the 5 teams that beat us this season. We took 6 off of Chesterfield, so for me, would prefer to see them do it
Swindon in the playoffs. They've been preparing for weeks! Did anyone see that cheeky free kick they did against Orient yesterday? I would expect that to feature on the Showboat!!
Anyone but Swindle They've behaved appallingly by fielding weakened teams for the past few weeks, and their Manager is a tosspot. And they're Swindle !
