Well that is true maclad, and now it would seem that Everton is the likely destination for Lonners. Reports are suggesting a fee of £100.000/£200.000 which if true is a ridiculously low figure. PNE must be desperate to off load the high earners when you consider what they are letting our crown jewels go for..<laugh>

It would be interesting to know the truth as to why Lonners didn't go to Leeds (assuming he doesn't go), lot's of speculation most of which doesn't show Lonners in a very good light. As I have said all this is speculation really and Lonner's could still end up at Leeds, the move may not be dead in the water.

Mat Hill off to the lashers according to SSN, so we still have to find and bring in a decent left back. Lot's going on behind the scenes at Deepdale at a guess, but nothing moving thus far.

    :)

Afternoon Plumber, according to Lonners Twitter feed the move to Leeds is still on as talks are ongoing, although the fee could be low they would probably buy the remainder of his contract which could be quite a fair bit of cash.
As for Matty Championship or league 1, it's a no brainer sadly.

The Lonner's move is proving to be a bit of saga I think..<laugh>..mind you if Leeds were to buy the remainder of his contract it would be worth the wait for PNE.

Carlisle is an experienced central defender and importantly a Prestonian by birth, so if true and he comes to Deepdale his heart should be in the right place..<ok>..Not a great player but should cut the mustard at Div1 level. We do now need another in the centre of defence following SSL's departure so Carlisle is a distinct possibility....maybe..<laugh>.

Where has our moderator disappeared too ????. We need him back and soon..<laugh>

    Morning SL..<ok>
I would very much like to meet up with you lads at Kendal, and thanks for the offer it's much appreciated. Unfortunately I can't get up there for various reasons but will be following the game on the PNE minute by minute match report. Great to know that you are meeting up and supporting PNE. I am sure you will all enjoy each other's company and have lot's to talk about, I was going to say without any mods to keep you in check but forgot about Mooney..<laugh>.

Once again the offer is much appreciated and thanks again..<ok>

Treacy and Carter to play some part in Scotland this week, Mills from Doncaster and an Estonion striker training with the clubs. Also maybe after Josh Thompson on loan from Celtic

Carlisle has signed on the dotted line for PNE.

Very good signing IMHO and have every confidence he will be a major player in PNE's next season team. He brings experience and has played at Prem level so he should have no problem dealing with Div 1.
Local lad by birth and a PNE supporter as well so he will want to perform at his best for his home City team.

Well done PB, a couple more of the same and we can really look forward to the coming season.

It does seem like this is a done deal maclad, and I have to say I dont understand the logic of this one.
Lucas was ok (and that's all) last time around at Deepdale but his lack of height brings a weakness in his game. It would now seem that the possible Turner deal is now dead and it also puts more pressure on Lonners to make his mind up and move on. Can't say I am happy with the signing of Lucas if it is true.
As an afterthought it is possible that Lucas is coming as backup for Turner, we will see.

There is no logic in this. Lucas was (just about) OK last time, but time marches on and age must by now have blunted what talent he had. This is a poor and backward signing. We need a first class goalkeeper not a superannuated one.

If we have lost the Turner signing through a lack of commitment then it does not bode well for the future. I am now more pessimistic than ever. The bookies choice of third favourite to win the league is becoming more risible each day.

So, where has this information about Lucas come from? I agree that it would be a retrograde step. He was okay for the lower divisions. What is Carlo doing nowadays?

The only time I North End last year was the Burnley match. I thought the last Burnley goal showed Lonners' problem: lack of authority. Very good shot stopper, middlling to poor on crosses, for a big lad, & poor organiser. A shame really, because potentially an excellent goallie.

Hope to come up & see more matches next season.

Barnet if signing Lucas is a retrograde step re signing Carlo I have not played for 3 years but love warming the bench Nash is also a retrograde step. Remember this was the man who wanted to move nearer his wife's work in London and ended up signing for Wigan, also he's 3 years older than Lucas.
