Sounds like Paddy McNair to me, we have high hopes for him as a CH <ok>

As a full back yes. Seriously though, i have never seen him play as a midfilder so just wondered what type of player you think he will be.

    <laugh><laugh>

    Rodgers:
On the race for a top-four spot:
".... It was always going to be difficult for us. The opportunity was tough this year in terms of where we were at as a team."

I distinctly remember him saying before the match against the mancs that we were going for second. It was not always going to be difficult was it? :bandit:

I've not jumped on the Rodgers out brigade all season and I haven't seen either of our last couple of games but from sounds of it the players just aren't motivated.

Now yes, a lot of them deserve to be blamed and we should be looking toward next season from now on which means playing players that will be at the club and playing them in their positions (Can in CM, Manquillo at RB) but Rodgers job is to motivate the team to be able to perform and if he can't do that in the last couple of games when there is a FA Cup final and a slim chance of 4th place at stake then that does raise concerns.

Have the team lost confidence in him? Maybe
Maybe they know something that he wont be there next year?

It does seem that when things are going well, they go great (last year's long winning run) and this year unbeaten run, but as soon as 1 thing goes wrong it's normally followed by 2 or 3 more and it spirals from there.

I always liked Rodgers because I enjoyed the way he had us playing football but for most of this season our football has been slow and boring with no movement at all, even from players like Sturridge & Sterling. The only ones that can come out of this season with any kind of credit are Can, Mignolet, Coutinho, Allen & Lucas in my opinion. The rest of the team all need to look at themselves and ask serious questions.

You look at the names we have and this team should be capable of playing quick exciting football, most of them did it last year. Yes we have the 3rd best player in the World dragging them all up, but they produced those performances themselves, so they are capable of hitting those heights. Why are they not motivated enough to do it themselves each game?

If Rodgers goes, there is a core group of young players that could be there for the next 4/5 years providing stability. Next season is a huge season already, with United getting back into top 4 and Arsenal looking stronger than ever the top 4 places look even more set than they did when the top 4 was Us, Chelsea, United & Arsenal 10 years ago.

Splashing the cash isn't the issue, it's just buying more clever. Buying players that fit a system and suit others.

Takes 2 to make an assist. Coutinho all round play has been very good but he hasn't had a striker making the runs in behind the forwards that he needs to enable him to play those through balls to or link up with. Balotelli isn't an awful player but he doesn't suit Coutinho in the way Sturridge does. Coutinho needs movement infront of him to help make him look even better without that movement it stifles his play.

Don't really get the Balotelli hate for this game, thought he was the only one looking like he was gonna do something.

I've said it before and I'll say it now, he can't play up top alone, he likes to come deep to receive the ball and our wingers like to hug the touch line for some reason. We've been playing Sterling upfront for most of the season but when Balotelli is actually fit we have just decided to bin Sterling as a striker and go for a system which suits no one.

    ------------------Ming
    -----Can-----Skrtel------Lovren
    Ibe-------Allen------Hendo------Mark
    ----------------Coutinho
    -------Sterling------------Balotelli

Why doesn't this system no longer work? We have two wingers which have a great work rate and it allows Balotelli to drop deep and Sterling to attack.

Team look like they don't care atm which is really worrying, this current form is sacking form and after how we've played these past games if Brendan was to be sacked I would not be surprised, Kenny went and he gave us a cup.
