“You know, boring I think is 10 years without a title. That's very boring. You support the club and you're waiting, waiting, waiting for so many years without a Premier League title, so that's very boring.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...oring-is-10-years-without-a-league-title.html
Arsenal fans were just frustrated that we completely nullified them and still had the better chances. How the hell wasn't that challenge on Oscar a pen either!!?? Same old Arsenal, look great when the pressure is off. They won't win another title with Wenger there IMO.
Playing for a 0-0 with no recognised striker on the field is boring. It may be an effective way of winning, but it's still boring, regardless of how you dress it up. Even at home last week against us, you set your team up to stop us playing rather than trying to outplay us. Chelsea are a top side, but they play with a small side mentality in big games. This cannot be disputed
Yes it can, we didn't have a recognised striker available for our game against you or the Gooners, so set up the only way we could. Worked both times as well. We have been extra negative as much through circumstance as desire the last month and also the time Costa was injured and suspended. Now if you had said we desperately need another striker or even 2, you would get no argument from me.
Drogba was available, he did start against us but not Arsenal. Does look over the hill to be fair though. It was really the way Chelsea set up their midfield aswell, playing a centre back in in there against us to combat Fellaini, and then bringing Ramirez in for his energy to get about Arsenal. I can kind of forgive doing it away from home against Arsenal, but to need to adopt tactics to stop the opposition in your own stadium isn't really the mark of champions. Mourinho's tactics are effective, but they always make for low scoring dull affairs. Hence only 1 goal scored in 180 minutes of both games
Did you guys not wait 50 something years lol i have a lot of respect for chelsea and jose but that comment he made is stupid
It's the mark of a Premiership winning manager, something I can't see Van Gaal ever being, he's too tactically inept.
Yeah because every Premier League winning manager has felt the need to play defensive negative tactics to stop sides lower than themselves in the table at home
Ahh, i see. im sure we'll be sure to play into our opponents hands next year to please all the "neutrals". gotta get that "mark of champions" dont we? Tactics?! what for!!
define take on. we went to the emirates and had united at home in the past two weeks and took 4 points over those games..
I didn't mention Drogba because he is no longer a proper option unfortunately, his legs are gone and he's just ineffective. I'm not crazy about the way we play either, but Iv'e come around to thinking it's as much out of necessity as desire. The Arsenal game especially was just an amazing example of tactical defence defeating attacking superiority. Half way through the 1st half I thought we were goners, but we were literally making Arsenal play so they couldn't score in a brothel with a fist full of fivers. Next year, when/if we sort out the strikers and add another controlling midfielder, we might be having a different conversation if we still adopt the same tactics !
