I like Dr Allam. He has made his fortunes from nothing and for that I take my hat off to him. He is a business man and business men like to take control and put their stamp on a business, more so ones that are bought from other parties. This man has worked wonders at Hull City and I bet you where all creaming your pants when he signed Steve Bruce and signed decent players and of course when we where promoted back to the premier league. He's worked wonders all over the city by "gifting" money to the universities, colleges and hospitals to help them develop. What have our money grabbing politicians/counsellors done? Nothing! is the answer, Dr Allam has given/done more for our city. But because he wants to change the name of our football club he's this, he's that and every other name under the sun. I think many on here are pathetic bastards! More to life than the name of a football club. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, we all of our own views which is understandable, but look at the bigger picture. Weigh up the positives against the negatives (if that is what you want to call them).
A football club is not a normal business. It just isn't. Yup, I was. He worked wonders. I don't think anyone thinks otherwise... That is a grossly naive view of politics to be fair. And philanthropy too. Allam is a rich man. He has much wealth. He can distribute that as he wishes. He can support anything he wants. And he can put a lot of money to a worthy cause. That's all well and good. The local councillors work with a pot of money, mostly paid for by us hard working taxpayers. They have a duty to spread that money across the city and pay for services we need and often demand. It's not as easy to pick and choose who you want to give money to, when it's public money. But for a millionaire it's a piece of cake and is also good for persuading a somewhat skeptical public of your altruistic nature... I think you're right. And I think you are one. From what I've seen, in that bracket would also be Strovlos (sic-can't be arsed to look), Happy Tiger, Patty n Chips and Sunbeam Tiger. Toss-pieces, the lot of you. Yet you've taken the time to register on a forum to whinge and whine at people who don't want the name change? Well done. TBH I just registered to reply to you. The difference is that I care about Hull City, my club. And won't sit back and see it pulled to pieces by some mad, stubborn dictator. I don't expect any happy clappers to agree with me either.
