Arl reet clever clogs, . When do we all get our bit then? I'm still waiting for my cheque to come through the letter box.
No mate! I really think you're on to something! We gotta let others know before someone tries to silence us for good
And regret their decision immediately. It's a just matter of time now. Everyone else has had their independence from us... Why shouldn't the Scots?
Nothing to do with Scotland gaining independence from us..The UK is based on a voluntary Union between the nations that took place in 1707..
Whether you call it independence from Westminster or breaking away from the union is pretty unimportant, the end result is the same. They don't want to be ruled by Westminster, they're not going to change their minds. **** knows how they were stupid enough to cock up their referendum. Means we have to listen to that **** all over for the next few years.
We are a tiny island nation anyway, so to split it up into seperate nation states is utter madness in my eyes...
Under the promise of more power which doesn't really seem to have come to much fruition. They were charmed by campaigners and bottled it.
It wasn't Northern Rock, they were just the first (and smallest) in trouble. Theirs paled into insignificance compared to RBS Halifax Lloyds
They have got far too much power in my opinion, and they have been granted extra powers since the no vote...
I'm shocked! I thought they were pillars of the community! Turns out they're pillocks of the community!
Hang on mate. There are three readings, a committee stage and one other consideration period just to get these promises through the House of Commons. Then there are several stages to get it through the House of Lords. And then it goes for Royal Ascent. Such promises can't just be delivered overnight, and were never to be expected to.
This is true but i understand the majority of under 40's actually voted for Independence so Nicola knows that if she can keep this rhetoric going for a few more years they have a real chance of winning. The price of her support in any coalition is clearly going to be another referendum.
The majority voted No because of the 'better the devil you know.' Eventual independence raised so many questions that the 'Yes' campaigners had no definite answer to! They might have been slightly better off on their own, or they could have been a hell of a lot worse! Would it be worth the risk? It would be like all of the Scots jumping into a lifeboat before the ship has even hit an iceberg! They could have ended up in an island paradise, or could end up adrift floating aimlessly! The majority of Scots would love independence but would not take the risks that come with it!
I honestly can't see any of the parties going into coalition with a nationalist party such as the SNP... The defence policy of the SNP alone would lead to chaos with either of the main two parties..
