OP, you need to get you Dad's records and listen to some good music. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, UFO etc - Now that is music
Saw Deep Purple live a few years ago, must've been 4 or 5 now. Obviously little of the original members left. They were poor, in all honesty. Real poor. They played with Thin Lizzy (minus Lynott, obviously. Scott Gorham was there though) who were, in fact, brilliant.
Arrrgghh now I'd bloody LOVE to see the stranglers! One of my favourite bands EVER. I love JJ Burnel as a bass player, being one myself. My girlfriends parents have seen them a few times, been very jealous! They rang me up last time and I listened to a couple of songs haha. **** sound but yknow They played in Manchester near me earlier on in the year, but I'd ran out of money before I could get tickets They normally gig every year though? So next year's my year for definite!
I've seen them twice now (3 years ago and in March this year), and they were bloody amazing. It's not the same as seeing them in their heyday when Hugh Cornwell was still with them, but Baz Warne isn't a bad replacement.
Aye, I've seen a few videos and they still look fantastic. Baz still does the job. I'm definitely going whenever they're next nearby. Was absolutely gutted I missed out this year
You definitely need to get yourself there. It's the perfect place to go ****ing nuts and get hot and sweaty to brilliant music, plus there's always some kooky punk-rock chick looking for fresh, young meat. And, it's great if you get a decent support act; last time I went it was Wilko Johnson (who's worth the entry fee on his own).
Favourie band (s) : Kings of Leon ( White lies, Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths, The Cribs, The Horrors, Noah and the Whale, Coldplay, The Cure, The Kills.. Mostly that ) Least Favourte Band (s) : JLS ( The Wanted and N-Dubz.. Pretty much commercial music. I hate it! )
Sounds ace, don't think the girlfriend would appreciate that as much though Nice one. Can't remember who was supporting when I was supposed to go.. probably the same I imagine, would have been part of the same tour
If I didn't know you were Trev, I'd say you were a kooky punk-rock chick. But alas, you are indeed Mr Santos.
saw them at southampton guild hall a while back. my dad is a huge fan and transferred it onto us, takes my brother to gigs more than me
Brilliant band and mint live. Seen them with Cornwell and without. At their best with Cornwell, but they are still better than 99% of the modern pretenders even without him.
