According to the BBC, Sturridge may have finished his season early , http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32479958 , what are your thoughts will you persevere with him next season or are you going to cut him loose ?
We will definitely stick with him and we should do We're already looking to replace 3 with Borini, Lambert and Balotelli having to go. Sturridge needs to get sorted out, he didnt look the same player when he returned. Hopefully a proper full pre season will set him up for a decent season next
We can no longer rely on him or factor him in to our long term plans. Not sure what we do, keep him on 120+k for the few games a year he can play? Not like we will get much for him. I firmly believe that this is more or less the end for Sturridge. 15 injuries since we signed him and the same ones time and again, each time more severe. As he's even admitted, it's just his nature - he's naturally injury prone. Something we don't need.
No point in playing the lad now, our season is over anyway. May as well let him have a long break and let him try to be ready for next season's quad win
I seem to remember him taking an extended Christmas holiday last year + other no shows? It was only towards the start and end of the season that SAS truly played together
Very naive to build the attack around him. I like Sturridge but feel is overhyped. Having said that, I wouldn't be selling him - still one of our better players in the whole team, and is our best striker. Needs to have a partner to do most of his running for him ala Suarez. Even when he was fit this season, the only times he played well was when Mario was on the pitch.
I cant 100% really remember but I never thought he missed too many, nothing like this season obviously
lets see..... quad.. hmmmm.. liverpool senior cup no charity shield given villa debabcle so you can't eman that U21 reserve league? he could play in that whats the other two bob cups we've a hope of winning?
he missed 3 months last year... near enough. it was 9/10 games and when he returend the team transformed to 4-1-2-1-2 and we went on that long run of wins. He was out quite a while last year.
Yeah I know, hence the reason I mentioned him Same kind of character, as at least half of Louis problems were in his head. Sturridge strikes me as having a similar mindset given the length of his absences for relatively routine injuries and a couple of comments he's made.
I've always rated Sturridge and was very happy when we signed him, it's unfortunate that his injury problems are now a real issue. If we don't sign a striker for next season Rodgers needs to be taken away by the men in white coats.
