Trebles have always been hard for Celtic to win. With two teams eager to win a one off game the man with the whistle needs to act fairly. That doesn't happen too often when Celtic are playing although smart bastards like Willie Collum can create an illusion of his fairness by giving a penalty to Celtic at the end of a match already won. From time to time Celtic meet a team in the Semi Final of a Cup competition that is so poor that even if the referee changed his strip to the light blue at half time and became an out and out bigoted ref he couldn't save. That unfortunately befell poor Craig Thompson who did his damnest in the first half to help Scotland's newest freak club , but they were so poor they were beyond help.
