Leadbitter was always a quality player in the Championship. If we go down I would look into signing him, I reckon he'd jump at the chance to move back to his boyhood team.
He wouldn't though mate. Apparently his dad died and had his ashes spread on our pitch, which is why he left us in the first place. Too heartbreaking for him.
He played for us for about a year or so after that mate. When he scored that screamer against Arsenal h. sprinted over to where the ashes had been scattered and got emotional. He went because he wasn't getting enough game time because he wasn't up to it mate,
There is always a team where reasonable players will fit into and flourish. Maybe if we had persisted with homegrown talent more patiently then things could have changed for both parties. Henderson and Colback had a fair few detractors when they first started out and given different roles have flourished so maybe we should not condemn a player if he does not show outstanding talen from the beginning. Those players are few and far between.
bottom half of the prem is on par with the top of the championship imo ,who out of the top six in the prem would want anybody from us tbf
Daryl murphy would have to come back here if we went down, and Watmore will get about 25 goals no bother, so I reckon we will get straight back up as champions, the mags will be down next season though !
Sure Watford turned down a bid in excess of £12m last summer. Perversely he's out of range for us. He'll do well next season imo
