Nigel agreed.... "I should be smiling a lot broader shouldn't I? It's a relief, that's the over-riding feeling. But we need to back it up. "We know we've dropped an awful lot of points. A lot of our performances have deserved more than what we had today. "Steve will feel his side should have won the game and we have had that feeling a number of times this season. "You need different qualities to win football matches. Some of our recent performances have been really outstanding but we produced a grit and determination to keep the ball out of the net and we rode our luck.
Just for you - Walcott admitted after the game that he was surprised by the quality shown by the bottom of the pile Foxes. "It was a very scrappy game. Leicester played some very good football and I can't believe they are at the bottom."
Is "grit and determination to keep the ball out of the net" not part of a good performance then? In fact, in that game that the KC we showed a lot of qualities like defending and taking your chance. You might have passed the ball about with better precision but your finishing was absolutely gash. You'll feel like you should have got more out of the game, but we felt that we did enough (as proven) to win the game. To say that passing the ball about on the half way line means you've outplayed someone is laughable. It feels bad to have a game where you give up a lot of chances. But it'd be highly unfair to suggest that we didn't play our part in winning that game. We defended well and only limited you to half chances. You didn't take any of those half chances whereas we did. We haven't outplayed many teams this season, but we have had a lot of games where we've come out of it with a sour taste because we knew we should have put our chances away.
You don't have talk some ****e at times , what's so hard about admitting you were very poor that day and extremely lucky to win the game ? Is it that hard for you to say or is it just because it was against us ? We have been ****e plenty of times this season I just don't have a hard time admitting it . Ps was not much grit and determination just more of our ****e finishing that won you the game
We were poor that day for sure and won, **** happens like that in football was a long long time ago....we move on....we've played better many times and ended up losing. We certainly haven't got what we deserved in many games this season. Going to be a rocky ride until the end of the season
You scored and we didn't, so you obviously deserved to win, but you were rubbish and didn't get out your own half for the last twenty minutes. We were by far the better side, that was all I said and it was absolutely true, it's equally true of games I've seen you lose this season.
I agree mate, teams don't always get what they deserve in football matches, something definitely the case for us this season, but we just concentrate on the next 6 massive games now and keep our fingers crossed
One of the things that was going to keep you up was that we were well in the **** and there were clearly 3 sides that wouldn't get near you. I hope you don't go down but it looks bad. Please get your arses in gear. Sunderland DQPR and Burnley to drop please.
Shame Hull won as well at inconsistent Palace, but would be happy if the bottom three stays as it is. Can't really see Burnley or QPR getting out of it now, but we'll see, everyone said that about us a few weeks back. Starting to look like the final spot will be between us, Hull and Sunderland. Bring on Chelsea!
We were poor on the day. but the fact that you lost to us at home after one of our worst performances of the season says more about Hull's deficiencies than any kind of reflection on us - we got what we needed. The bigger clubs get outplayed all the time - we outplayed Tottenham both home and away for instance, but lost both matches. Better sides find a way to win, even when they're not at their best. That's what we did that day. If we'd played to our potential, chances are we'd have murdered you. But we didn't need to because, as you point out yourself, your finishing - the most fundamental factor in football - was dire. If you'd been more effective, chances are we'd have upped our game, as we have done so many times this season when behind.
Think you need to include us in that battle for 18th. 7 straight losses, a cowboy of a manager and a team with little fighting spirit. If we lose at your place I think we're gone. I'm just hoping the return of Sissoko and De Jong to our starting line up on Saturday will give the team a boost. We need one point to stay up IMO, it's just that I can't see us getting that point.
Hopefully you'll get at least a point against QPR! Newcastle will survive. Just. But next season must be a concern.
