I was in the school end so had no chance at the time, but seeing on tv this morning it was a clear goal. Robbed again

The fact that we missed a penalty and had a perfectly good goal disallowed, we should have won. Did we deserve to? No, we were crap!

    Hi Stan
    Just yes..we wanted it more

Caulkers challenge was fair...but the ref got tied up with the goal area melee and you cannot touch a goalie

I think we deserved the points...but at the moment, it is not going our way.

There is a good chance I will miss the Toon match, if you are interested in the seat next to you Stan, give me an email

Thanks Eternal & Beth. Even from the highlights it seemed West Ham had a couple of chances second half including one near enough open goal. The fact that we can't win these games, or draw some of the many that we've lost by the odd goal, says it all. Desire and commitment fine, composure and quality, not quite.

Sorry Beth I have to disagree with you. Our tactics were abysmal, hoof it in the general direction of BZ and hope something happens, which it didn't. Charlie had the worst game I've seen him have for us, totally anonymous, but I put that down to the tactics we employed.

The English commentators on what I watched thought Caulker tried to head the ball quite fairly, and the goal should have been given, which was what I thought. As the commentator said his arm was up but you need to, to head a ball. Didn't look like anything but another case of the Keeper being given something for nothing. I thought we deserved to win too, a good goal disallowed and the BBC has us with 54% possession, 18 shots to 8 against, and 8 to 2 on target.

    We are not disagreeing Hoops
    Tactics not right
    Charlie bad game agreed

But the players did want to win it and tried very hard regardless of the tactics..., and because WHU were (nearly) as bad as we were, I though we could have had it
we could have/should have won it......Lots of teams win nmatches they do not (fully) derserve to...but we are not amongst them

We don't even win the matches we deserve ...................Man City, Chelsea (h), Spurs (h)

Stan, the missing yesterday man, had it right...confidence and composure

Yes we should have won it, the penalty alone should have been enough. I was in the C&S with Finglas, and the moment he saw the line-up he said 0-0

As said above by others, I think we just shaded it but lacked quality. When Barton's your best player almost every game that tells you all you need to know. West Ham were poor but counter-attacked very quickly and that was their best method of getting a goal. A better side would've finished us off but 'The Hammers' didn't look like they had a goal in them. That's why it was imperative that we scored.

Roller's response to the result was to send me this. Seems apt.
