I've heard similar, and don't disagree. The quote today was "these flags are not ASI money, they are to try and help create an atmosphere." Someone having it in writing in an email leaves them wide open if they need to put the few pence these flags would have cost into the ASI scheme though. Then again, it could be a Neville Chamberlain, peace in our time event. .
When the club say what they've done with the ASI fund, then I'll take it on board, what someone posts on message board, second hand, is of **** all interest to me. Mooney's ignored my last six emails, if he wants to respond to anything, he knows perfectly well how to do so.
Under normal circumstances it would be strange,wouldn't it. But in the world of the twilight emails and messages, repeated on here as fact, it is par for the course. Something is said, so it must be true, even after all of the previous lies.

Which side are you batting for? You are adamant that your in the know source is 100% right and the flags are not from the ASI, and then you quote Muffinthegoat who names his in the know source saying tee shirts and flags are funded by ASI.
I'm not batting for any side. I'm simply stating the facts as I know them. what muffin says is true, not that I doubted him anyway, but I've heard exactly what he's heard. That discussion wasn't about these flags though, it was more general. I'm adamant that the email exists and the wording is as I quoted. I was actually editiing that reply to muffin to say that it could well be a Neville Chamberlain, peace in our time moment, but right now, the written word from the club is a categorical statement that the flags weren't paid for from the ASI fund. If that turns out to be a lie, I'll be shouting about it louder than most.

If thats how it is then the club has lied, we just need to know which of the two statements is untrue. TWT
They can both be true. The club are perhaps funding other flags. I know they were in discussions with the ulltras about some for them. It could also be the case that the original statement was true at the time, but they had a change of mind. It's guesswork, and could be resolved by better communication.
I suspect it's more a case of someone being so pissed off they have washed their hands of the whole sorry mess and left it to those in charge.
