I think you missed the satire there old chum.

With regards Mauled's work, can't pin anything on him, I doubt he went into a briefing being told his work would be commissioned for flags in an effort to **** the supporters over the ASIA money.

The club chose to waste the ASI money on giveaways rather than what it's meant for.

The club would have done the same thing with or without mauled's designs, so a positive is at least they look good, rather than 'tigers on tour' or something equally as ****e.

If you want to start pointing fingers get them pointed at James Mooney, the Allams and any of the other ****s involved in decision making at the club. Let's have a witch hunt.

So Allam one of the richest men in Yorkshire decides to allocate the money given to him by the Premier League to help the fans of one of poorest cities in the UK not by reducing their financial burden of supporting their team but by spending the money on a useless cheap tee shirt and a useless ****ing flag which no doubt he will charge at retail value rather than cost to him - and ****s like Irememberwaggy think the people who protest about this are morons compared to the deluded sychophant that he is

'So, not606 now dragged into the ASI shenanigans'

'£200k for this ****' (with picture of flag)

Just a couple of tweets from the game yesterday, like it or not, people are making the connection and that's disappointing.

The stated aim of the ASI fund is to get more fans to away games, giving out cheap tee-shirts and flags doesn't encourage anyone to travel, cheap tickets or travel do.

the ASI money - (Allams Stolen It) was to increase away attendance - putting a tee shirt on the back of a seat when you arrive or a flag on the seat does not come close to increasing bums on seats as no-one even knew about it - the Club has failed totally with this initiative and not surprisingly are the only club in the Prem to do so

I don't agree. Because we know the club are playing silly buggers with the ASI money, and people are aware of this, I assumed -- reasonably -- that the flags were just part of this. And, importantly. The flags do not mention our club's name. So, however well-intentioned, this not 606 initiative has been used as a propaganda exercise, by the Allam regime, for their own purposes.

Arguably, support was improved. Perhaps not in numbers, but in the display.

I'm not arguing for or against the flags, I 'm arguing against people on here trying to taint our flags for their own ends.

    I've only just seen them.

I answered one yesterday to say I didn't know anything about them and as far I knew it was **** all to do with this board.

I don't think anyone's having a go at Mauled or pointing fingers.

The only post that could be taken that way was me saying that it seems he was involved in the flags which are being used as a cover up by the club.

My issue is with people trying to stop the debate about the ASI issue on the ASI thread, seemingly just so that no one takes it the wrong way.

If Mauled was involved that's his business but it doesn't affect the issue. The flags, even though the designs are great, are a ****ing insult to the fans and nothing more than an act of spite because the owners hate us.

Mooney would have wanted to provide tickets, but obviously he's got his orders so we're getting no discounts. This act alone is worthy of Allam Out demonstrations.

Who's trying to stop the ASI debate?

I'm just trying to stop people trying to use our flags for their argument.

Are you not interested in thinking about and addressing why they might make those assumptions?

Would it be possible to have an answer to my earlier question please? Was the image on the not606 banner also used on the club's flags distributed yesterday ?

The flags have become a part of the ASI issue. They're the half hearted coverup being employed by the owners to pretend its not just an act of spite towards the fans.

But that would be the case for any flags. The fact they've used mauled's design needs to be seen as the separate issue it clearly is.

No, I'm not that interested in why a couple of twiterati have seemingly made an incorrect assumption. It's a good opportunity to nip it in the bud though.

One of them seems to think they cost £200k!

Of course the flags were popular, they are City legends after all. ( despite not saying City on them )
After a Premier League ASI which has been known about since the start of the season, the club finally showed something with 3 away games to go, a cheap and tacky tee shirt which could be said to have been unpopular.
The question is, has the club piggybacked on to or highjacked a supporters good wll initiative?

Good question. I don't know the answer. We've had flags at home games previously which didn''t seem as popular.

People could equally argue both cases. Some will see it as a snub and dislike the flags for what they feel they represent, others will just like the flags for what they are.

I can see both sides of that. I think if they hadn't been mauled's design and showing some hero's, they'd have been received far worse than they have been. From that perspective, and given they'd have cost penines, they were arguably a success.

If what people are saying is right and the money can only be used for travel, a claim that it falls in the ASI budget would be rejected anyway.
