Looks like playing Stevenage then...unless Southend lose and Bury fail to win (and we win of course)...Stranger things have happened I guess.. For the animal lovers out there its ok...We haven't got a cat...
Bury at Tranmere next week. Southend at Morecambe, lets see if they try next week or roll over. B*llocks i'm distraught at this moment!
I have but i love her too much to kick her. So we will be playing Stevenage in the play offs, Christ as if we diodn't have enough injury problems, we'll have nobody fit for the 2nd leg. Beer needed right now, lets try not to get too depressed as it's been one hell of a ride this season. We have beaten harder odds than what we face now so cheere everyone!
I am afraid it is true just got back from the match we played well without creating much from hitting the bar & a few scrambled chances their goalkeeper di'dnt have a real save to make Ingram made at least four saves in the second half which if a scout was watching we will be looking for a different goalkeeper next season. Ingram was voted man of the match very close behind must have been Marcus Bean & Alfie Mawson what a player. Fred seems to have gone right off form since his start with us. He was getting pushed & pulled all over the place by the Morecambe defence Morecambe also had four booked in the first half but looked like their manager calmed them down at half time I think we badly missed Aaron Pierre with him & Alfie defence & attack look completely different. The season is ending just like last year we need a win in the last game & hope two cock it up instead of one. For myself who now follows from a distance I think we have had a great season with a record points haul, but for the players & supporters who go every week how on earth they raise themselves for next week & the play offs I have no idea.
Whatever happens we have to look on the bright side this time last season we were on the brink of non league football. the lads have been a revelation this season. Hats off to ainsworth and the lads for turning it around. If you offered us a play off place at the start of the season we would all have took it. Onwards and upwards let's look forward to the play offs and be proud of what we have achieved so far this season .coybs
Matt Ingram today showed why he is a top keeper - deserved a clean sheet today and such a shame he didn't get it. As for the other 10, its quite simpily a case of running out of steam. We created a lot of half chances in the first half and start of the second, but when morcambe really got a hold of the game theres nothing we could do about it. Thought bean looked better at right back than ive seen him all season, blooms work tirelessly again and craig put in his best display in a long time playing wide in a front 3 Onwards to Northampton, and though im resigned to the playoffs now you never know
How we missed Saunders today. We huffed and puffed, but never had that creative edge. As Phil said, Fred was again disappointing and hasn't show the promising form in the last 4 or 5 games. The small nature of our squad and the intensity of games around the Easter period has put paid to our automatic promo push. So it looks most likely that we will be playing the thugs of Stevenage. Let's hope if that is the case that we have fresher legs and a few back from injury
Bit gutted for you peoples today but as you have mostly recognised your season hasn't exactly been a failure even if you miss out in the end. We played Tranmere today. They have left the football league and that could have easily been you last season. We were there ourselves the season before. It's a long drag home from here when you lose let alone add in your league status as well. Baring accidents we have cemented the last play off place and we could easily be playing you again soon. I have to hope we make it because it would be a bit bizaar if I didn't but if we don't then hope you do because given your season I think you deserve something. I will be watching next Saturday with everything crossed.
Still hope that you get the third place. Ainsworth has worked wonders and deserves to be League Two manager of the year.
We quite simply ran out of steam and ideas midway through the second half I guess Holloway only had about 15 mins in him to be brought on so late Hogan was brought off the bench first to change things but he looks a spent force and not a patch on Sam Saunders how we missed him so now the Northampton game looks a non event and a double header against Stevenage on the cards the wife is not happy but it should be good for the club's finances
