Every game you should put out your strongest 11. Gerrard doesn't fit that anymore and hasn't all year. It's clear to see he's in the team on reputation and soppyness of Brendan and nothing else.

There's still a possibility of top 4 - even if slim - so it's definitely worth playing our best team/players and not being sentimental. Sorry, but screw the idea of a send of and letting Gerrard enjoy his last few games. We should be pushing for a strong end to the season and doing our most to get into the CL again.

WBrom are playing a 9-1 formation here. Play Can in that DM role who can defend and run to attack and make numbers up top whilst being creative and put Borini on for Gerrard so Balotelli has a runner next to him to create space because Balotelli isn't going to run - he needs someone next to him to do that. That's the change that was needed - not Gerrard sentimentality.

 

He's certainly not helping the situation slowing the ball down through midfield.
