Newcastle United vs Swansea City (St James' Park)
    Team news
    Newcastle
Siem de Jong will be in the Newcastle squad for the first time since August after recovering from a collapsed lung.
The Holland midfielder will be included after undergoing surgery to repair the lung, and he will be joined by striker Facundo Ferreyra, who has not made the squad since November because of a back problem.
Jonas Gutierrez, who was left out last weekend following a training-ground row with head coach John Carver, is also back.
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko completes his two-match ban while striker Papiss Cisse sits out the sixth installment of his seven-game suspension.
Although defender Paul Dummett (knee) and midfielder Rolando Aarons are close to returns, goalkeeper Rob Elliot will not play again this season after damaging a thigh muscle.
Provisional squad: Krul, Woodman, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, R Taylor, Satka, Sterry, Abeid, Anita, Colback, Gouffran, Cabella, De Jong, Ameobi, Obertan, Gutierrez, Kemen, Riviere, Perez, Armstrong, Ferreyra.
Siem de Jong (left) will return to the Newcastle squad for the first time in eight months this weekend

    Swansea
Jefferson Montero is pushing for a start as Swansea seek to bounce back from defeat at Leicester for their Barclays Premier League trip to Newcastle.
The Ecuador winger has not started since mid-February after falling victim to a new system and then a hamstring injury, but he played the last half hour at the King Power Stadium last weekend and might benefit if manager Garry Monk considers changes at St James' Park.
Bafetimbi Gomis remains out with a hamstring problem so loan signing Nelson Oliveira deputises up front again, while central defender Jordi Amat should fill in at full back once more as Neil Taylor completes a two-match suspension.
Provisional squad: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Amat, Cork, Ki, Shelvey, Routledge, Sigurdsson, Oliveira, Tremmel, Bartley, Fulton, Britton, Montero, Dyer, Emnes, Grimes, King.

    Newcastle vs Swansea

    Kick-off: Saturday, 3pm
    Odds (subject to change):
    Newcastle 7/5
    Draw 12/5
    Swansea 9/4
    Referee: Neil Swarbrick
Managers: John Carver (Newcastle), Garry Monk (Swansea)
Head-to-head league record: Newcastle wins 18, draws 5, Swansea wins 12
Key match stats (supplied by Opta)
Against no side have Newcastle played more Premier League home games without a win than they have against the Swans (3, level with Hull City).
Swansea have won four and drawn one of their last five league clashes with Newcastle United.
Since John Carver took charge of Newcastle, only QPR (8) have won fewer points than the Magpies (9, level with Sunderland).
Newcastle’s opening goal has come at a later time, on average, than the opener of any other side this term (52nd minute).
St James Park is the only Premier League ground yet to see a penalty awarded this season.
Newcastle United have only ever beaten Swansea City once in the Premier League and that was when Papiss Cisse (right) struck twice in a 2-0 win at the Liberty Stadium in April 2012
Papiss Cisse has scored four goals in four Premier League apps against Swansea, although all four have come at the Liberty Stadium.
The Senegalese striker has scored four goals in his last six PL games at St James Park.
Nathan Dyer has not scored or assisted a single Premier League goal in 15 appearances since December 2, 2014.
Swansea’s last six Premier League away games have seen them alternate between wins and defeats – if this run was to continue, they’d win this match.
Newcastle have lost their last three Premier League games at home – they haven’t lost four successive home games since February 2014.

Agree, I'd drop Ki today put jonjo alongside Cork, and allow Gylfi the room that's been suffocated lately.

Commentator has said he's had the injury for a while. Could explain why he and Dyer have become 'slower' as the season wore on <ok>

Two good chances for headed goals (Ash & Montero)
Routledge would have been a big plus against this Newcastle team.
Rangel, Jonjo & Montero started well.

Blody hell, Oliveira loses a simple ball and they catch us on the counter attack.

Looked like him but it was Cork who chased back from the half way line. (Cork is 24 isn't he?)
