It is 11 years since Arsene won a top trophy. Since Arsene last won a mega trophy in 2004, Chelsea have won five, United six, Bayern 9, Barcelona 11-12 Do you think he will lead Arsenal to a marquee trophy - premiership or Champions League - again?
lol you haters are funny, first it was Arsenal can never win a trophy, now that we have a chance of winning the FA Cup again, it's can Arsenal win a marquee mega trophy...The fact a Chelsea fan is also saying this speaks volumes, and then a dumber Spurs fan who's team have won only 2 trophies in 20 years? The Fa Cup is a big trophy, it's considered to be one of the best domestic if not the best domestic cup competition there is, but again, the fact a Chelski fan wants to try and put it down, again speaks volumes, shows how classless and plastic Chelski fans have well and truly turned out. **** club no history, and a strong racist fan base, mixed with a glory hunting fan base, so what else can you expect from such a club which also happens to be run by corrupt Russian money.
Arsenal cant win the league UTD, ££££ and Routmaster FC are the only ones good enough for that. The CL is way to big for them to get into the last 8
The problem for Arsenal - and I'm not wumming, here - is that they consistently embarrass themselves (and us) in the CL. Usually, they are good enough to get through to the quarters, though not this time, but as soon as they come up against one of the powerhouse sides (such as Monaco), they fold, with comedic regularity. You can set your watch by an Arsenal exit in the CL.
I would suggest you can set the seasons of the year by the annual Arsenal CL cycle of qualification, group stages, knockouts and exit.
As opposed to getting dumped out of the Europey cup, winning **** all and finishing somewhere just above mid table like the Spuds
Good call, Treble. I think the Arsenal CL must go something like this:- Start of competition: hope springs eternal, "we might win this!" Half-way point: "Oo! We've had a couple of scares, but we're still in it!" Quarters: humiliated again, and a Nation shamed Final: "What must that feel like?"
I like to think that if Spurs had had the same number of chances in the CL as Arsenal have had, we would have won it by now.
Look, I'll admit, that I might have made the odd wum-like comment, but 96% of what I write is considered to be on-point. Just look at my Mouser blog, for example.
Odd as in evens v odds. Every other comment you make is a bat **** wum comment and that's being kind to you mate
Wenger decided it's not the winning, it's the taking part about 10 years. Every season he takes the moral high ground because his team played the best football.
I think you're giving them more credit than they deserve HIAG. Think you'll find it's been "last 16" humiliation over the last 5 seasons. In fact in the same period Spurs have gone further in the competition. In effect, Spurs have been more successful in the CL in that period.
Arsenal are the opposite of Chelsea in that they look to entertain above all else. Chelsea look for the result. I like how van Gaal looks capable of both which bodes well for the future.
