None of the above, they are all a bunch of lying bar stewards. Politicians are the only people allowed to advertise themselves without legally being held accountable for their adverts!
I'll vote for the first ones to be positive about themselves. So far all parties seems to peddling the line that we should vote for them as the others are crap. Woo lets vote for the least bad
Also same old weapons peddled around, NHS/unemployment and immigration. None will be sorted in the end. Deficit still in the negatives and national debt is a now a joke. Economy beside, the reason for a Labour vote is that above all, we should be focussing on increasing quality of life rather than correcting the mistakes of bankers.
Didnt your parents ever tell you to never discuss Politics or Religion? Unfortunatley national debt is structural (Due to a period of excessive unsported spending - notably in the public sector - now refered to as excess waste) and so can only be reduced through cuts, sell offs or tax increases. Realistically, non of them are able to deliver on a serious reduction of debt - the most important thing is the deficit being affordable and sustainable. If the deficit is "managable" then government bonds and currency will remain strong and the economy 'less' fractious. An important note that we all should remember, it wasnt so long ago that people were queing to get their money out of the banks (2007/2008) beacuse of the fear of losing it all - those days seem distant now. The only true way to represent "the people" is to have a true coalition where every policy is debated and amended to a happy medium. The only issue with this is that decissions will rarely be made in a speedy manner which ultimatley weakens the country and affects "the people" - often those who are in most need. Germany is a very good example of this, the powerhouse of Europe that controls the EU yet has been in negative/neutral growth for years, operating as a minority political power. Thats the problem with democracy, but also the debris from socialism - it just doesnt work.
Some very good informative points there. So true, democracy will always be like this. But you never notice a good thing till it has gone, so we should respect the freedom we live in at the moment. Also don't understand how some people don't vote, totally oblivious to it. Thus the reason we are about to receive another hung parliament. The downside to Labour is that SNP is hankering after a coalition (which is not a great) for anybody that doesn't know. Either that or a Tory-UKIP coalition, which if ever occurs I will be swiftly moving to the moon. -- Also discuss politics most of the time at the pub, good to see if opinions down at the local are different from here.
Is amazing how uncommon 'common sense' is! The fix is almost always the simplest thing to do, unfortunately for every action there is a reaction - effecting someone or some group. If we view the country as a company (we would arguably be insolvent) you would have a certain pre determined budget to spend on things to improve your business moving forward. A board meeting would take place where decisions would be voted on (not necessarily vote for vote depending on share holding) in a democratic format of sorts, although influenced with people with more influence (shares). The outcome would be to invest in certain parts of the business to improve efficiency and cut things that either can't be supported or carry less of a priority. The problem with any government is that they are incapable of operating in such a logical (common sense) manner because of alienating certain voters, of blocks of voters. So you could argue that any political group design policy to effectively 'buy' votes and that is technically fraud - or would be in a normal business environment. The lobbiests lobbying the public - ironic! When I vote I try and vote with my head and not my heart, to vote around matters that will affect my children and their children. To sacrifice what effects me now to hopefully better their lives and the lives of others in the future. A person who doesn't vote or who shows no interest in the reasons for voting should be ashamed - people have died for this right!
It'll never happen but what is needed is a selfless politician, one who couldn't care less if they get voted in again. Just do whats best for the country not whats best for their party and their aspirations.
Never ever take one of my ideas and put it into action!!!! They usually don't work, end up costing money, or will put someone in prison
Ferraris full of cheats, Mercedes full of liars. Lotus not worth the effort. Red bull are probably right in some things they say but so wrong on other points
With the General Election looming, there are quite a lot of political jokes doing the rounds. The worst thing is that some of them will probably get elected...
Love the Red Bull - UKIP analogy in the poll. The debt isn't affordable or sustainable. It's doubled under the coalition to a staggering £1.6tn (TRILLION!!). They papered over the cracks by printing and borrowing more money, as soon as those bond repayments are due we'll be back to where we were in 2008. No doubt we'll end up with a negative base rate next time around too, as they try to force people to lend them money, meaning people will end up taking their money out of the banks. There should be an effort to reduce the debt, but elected governments are only interested in deceiving people short-term, they don't care how much misery they'll heap on people 10 years down the line as long as they can line their pockets in the next five.
Cameron is the only true leader among them, but I could never vote Tory. I need to start saving up for the deopsit, next election I'm going to put a Steak Sandwich up for election
That was my point, because it's structural debt (I.e. Can't be removed) no government can remove or reduce it without cuts, taxes or sell offs. I disagree on a debt being sustainable, because that is dictated by the deficit. Like your mortgage, it doesn't matter how much you owe (negative equity or not) it's about whether you can continue to make payments. However it's safe to say we all would rather have zero debt and disposable deposits to invest. One of the biggest issues is the welfare system, which was designed to support the minority, by the majority. The Welfare system has changed its appearance from the ideology it was designed for from core support such as the NHS and Pension system to what it is today, a non sustainable structural debt.
