The anti discrimination campaigners Kick it Out are requesting that any Hartlepool fans who turn up at Carlisle with their faces blacked up should not be allowed in the stadium. The Hartlepool fans are all planning a Bob Marley fancy dress day as part of their last game of the season celebrations...This in my opinion is political correctness gone mad, and will just make that organisation a bloody laughing stock if they get their way..
Nobody seemed to have a problem with this. Quite rightly, they did **** all wrong please log in to view this image Tell you what's irritating me is black actors in period dramas where historically there just wouldn't be black people about in that area of the world at the time.
Sidney pottier, Morgan freeman, Eddy murphy, Richard prior all legends could be in ANY film I will still love that film.
like Idriss Elba as a Norse God? Generally I have less of a problem with the 'token black man' in historical drama, there have been black people in Britain from the 12th century at the latest (probably a lot earlier), and they havn't all been slaves or poor, Egypt had a black Pharaoh for a time, Rome and Greece had a few black citizens, and The Moors controlled most of southern Europe for a few centuries. As to SWP, I thought he'd retired years ago.
It's the principle of casting the right colour of skin to make it more realistic not just casting to have an ethnic face in there. This an extreme example and bang out of order. Mariane Pearl, The wife of Daniel Pearl was of Afro-Chinese-Cuban decent. A massive criteria to find a good female actor to play the role. They cast Angelina Jolie
Colin farrel as Alexander the Great, I cringed every time he opened his mouth in that, it was like he made his accent even more Irish in the hope it might come out a bit Greekish. "to be sure Oim Alexander the great ye fekkin eejits"
Can't say I've ever understood why this is supposed to be offensive and I fall firmly on the politically correct side of most things. This I've never understood at all.
Can black Hartlepool supporters go as Bob Marley though? Or does Kick It Out assume that all Hartlepool supporters are white?
