On the 25th April every year here in Oz and NZ, dawn services are held in every City and Town to respect those of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who fell at Gallipoli in WW1. Whilst most of you are enjoying a night out tonight round about 9.00pm, myself, and many ex-pats will stand to order at 6.00am for our local 'Dawn Service' at the Traralgon Cenotaph. The disastrous 'Gallipoli Campaign' which saw over 100,000 Turkish and Allied lives lost has come to signify Australia and New Zealands participation in WW1. There will be over 20 World Leaders gathering at what Australia calls "Anzac Cove" in Gallipoli with Prince Charles representing Great Britain as well as hundreds of Australians and relatives of those who fell in 1915. This year is of special significance as it is the 100th 'Dawn Service'. please log in to view this image "Lest we forget".

Thanks for the reminder 'Roo. When I first came over here in the early '70's, one of the best places for a good night out was the TRANZAC Club, here in Toronto. Was run by rugby flads from Oz & NZ I think. Was a special night for them. Sadly the place closed down in the late '70's. Valiant bunch always, we Brits and many others owe them a lot. Edit: Corrected name of club
