Sign up to have your say... http://hullcitysupporterstrust.com/join/ The Football Association (FA) recently wrote to the Hull City Supporters' Trust to seek our views on the proposed change of playing name from Hull City to Hull Tigers, a change that the club proposes to make for the 2015-16 season. The FA has to approve any change to the playing name before it can be put in place. The Supporters' Trust is preparing a detailed response to this request for information, examining the case for changing the name, comparing that situation to retaining the current name and drawing conclusions both for Hull City supporters and football fans more widely. Our response will also make reference to the continuing re-branding and de-branding of the club, with removal of references to "Hull City" seen in many of the club's communications and products. In preparing our response to the FA, it is vital that we understand the views of our shareholders and junior members on the proposed name change. We are therefore launching this poll of members to seek your views. Change it to HULL TIGERS - on the one hand, the current owners of Hull City believe that changing the name to Hull Tigers will strengthen the brand of the club, increase its brand recognition in overseas markets and lead to increased revenue that could fund greater success on the pitch. This success is seen as more important than retaining the name of the club that has been in place for 110 years, a name that is common place in English football. Keep it as HULL CITY - on the other hand, many supporters believe that no firm evidence for this brand strengthening and additional revenue really exists, and that in truth the name change is motivated by Assem and Ehab Allam's ongoing spat with the leadership of Hull City Council and with Hull City fans. It is believed that retaining the current name, respecting the club's history and using that as a springboard for future success can secure Hull City's future. What is your opinion on this issue? To have your say, please email [email protected] with your choice written in either the subject of the email or the body of the email. Please put either: HULL CITY 1234 or HULL TIGERS 1234 ... in your email, where 1234 is replaced by your HCST membership card number. We will use this number and your email address to cross match votes against our membership database. The deadline for votes is 23:59 hours on Wednesday 29 April 2015. We look forward to hearing your views on this matter.
Right I have just emailed the Trust to ask them to remind me of my membership number! I've mislaid my card
I'd be all for the name change if it was Hull Bobcats. Unfortunately they chose the wrong cat. Hull Tigers just sounds daft. #allamout
I noticed that, and mistakenly opened one instead of immediately deleting it, but it still had all the usual Hull Tigers crap.
