Is it me or our beloved TH is indeed the worst pundit on TV ? I think he made a huge mistake accepting this job. He is pompous, full of himself, unable to say anything beyond banality and needs constant support from better pundits like Alan Smith. He is of course not an idiot of Mikhael Owen proportions, but I can not help feeling ebarrased listening to him anyway. I can not see him as an Arsenal coach either tbh. He looks like one of those natural geniuses who does not need to think much to do what he was doing on the pitch. These guys become the worst managers, unable to explain "obvious" things.
I don't think he's bad, but he's not in Red Nev's league. The language barrier is a problem. He speaks fluent English, but it's not his first language which makes it harder to be spontaneous or witty or even succinct. Richie Benaud died this week. He was the master of sports commentary/punditry but it came from a combination of great knowledge, calmness under pressure and a wonderful use of words.
He is ok, not on Gary Neville's level in terms of being or as bad as Owen. Sometimes he drags his point but he is not that bad especially compared to some of the other turds out there. But Sky's build up after hiring Henry was utterly ridiculous and Henry was never going to live up to that sort of hype.
I agree, not the best but not the worst either. He tends to be too laid back and needs to show more passion.
I think he's pretty decent - helped by the fact that I'm used to idiots like Robbie Savage, Michael Owen, Phil Neville and Tynesdale ect and he's hands down better than Lawrenson IMO
He obviously knows what he is talking about which is more than most pundits, his laid back attitude can make him seem boring but he is far from that. In short, he is better than most if you listen to what he says.
Henry has always been the laid back style, if u watch his interviews, heck even when he gave his farewell speech to Arsenal, he did it in a laid back type of voice, it's just his way.
I quite like him. Better than the manic depressive Mark Lawrenson or Paul Merson who just comes across like an idiot. I hate to say it though but of all the 'new' pundits I would say Gary Neville has been the best.
Neville is good. I quite liked Lee Dixon and Keown surprised me by not being a total tard. I personally don't mind Henry, as others have mentioned there are far bigger douches commenting on games. Hearing Carragher trying to cut the "eeeeees" and "eeghs" out of his speech is like hearing nails down a blackboard whilst simultaneously receiving paper cuts from someone using lemony paper.
Before you want to hark on about Henry, speak of your own dumbass coach and his arrogant interview with BBC, now that's what you call bonkers.
Not sure what that has to do with Henry, the pundit. Could you keep it on topic please? Idiots like you give others a bad name. Thanks for your assistance on the matter.
