They need this 3g pitch in place by the end of April. The Airco arena is the place for it. The club are investing a lot of money into it, creating jobs and over 100 young football players will be using it. In any other form of business this would be looked at as good news. It is unfortunate that some community groups will have to re housed, but community facilities are closing all the time, groups protest and move on. City have said they will help those effected find an alternative venue and perhaps some of the under used council and private owned facilities will benefit from having new tenants. It could have been better handled, yes, and it could have been better received. Damned if you do damned if you don't.
How can you continue to stand behind this ****? I'm sorry mate, but i just can't help thinking you're just defending your own on line persona. You care for yourself Ffs that's a funny post !
That line again; damned if you do damned if you don't. People are forever using that line in a completely illogical way when it comes to Allam. I can't imagine a scenario where he'd have been damned for not turning the Airco Arena into an indoor pitch. The idea was unheard of until yesterday. "The Airco Arena is the place for it" - how is that exactly? It's miles away from the rest of the facilities, completely on its own. It's not Hull City's site to use, it's a community venue. That's the most important bit, it's being taken over by Hull City by force. But also It's a council owned building and we know Allam won't pay for an extension on a council house, so god knows whose gonna pay for the work. Apart from all that I'm sure it's an absolutely ideal site.

Hence Plan B #aircoeviction angus young@angus_young61 Of course the whole mess can be traced back to the dysfunctional relationdhip between the Allams and the city council #AircoEviction angus young @angus_young61 · 2h2 hours ago A brand new indoor 3G would cost around £2m apparently. Bit cheaper than Abel Hernandez #AircoEviction
COMMUNITY sports clubs who have been told they will no longer be able to use the Airco Arena have contacted Hull City Council to complain about their eviction. Earlier this week the Stadium Management Company (SMC), which runs the west Hull arena, next to the KC Stadium, announced it is installing a synthetic football pitch inside the venue. After work is completed the indoor facility will no longer be able to stage sports such as netball, trampolining, gymnastics and basketball, unless a special surface is brought in on an event by event basis. Now, the council says it will seek a meeting with the SMC. A spokesman for Hull City Council said: “The council has not yet been consulted upon any proposal, however it is requesting a meeting of the community use rights liaison committee with the Stadium Management Committee to consider how the SMC intends to meet its commitment to regular and individual users of the sports hall within the community use rights obligations that fall upon the company.” Related content Community sports teams' 'shock' as Airco Arena 3G move leaves them homeless Hull City: 'New Airco Arena 3G pitch can help unearth stars of future' .text-links-grid .videoCube { height: 4.7em; } .text-links-grid .trc_rbox_header_span, .trc_spotlight_widget .trc_rbox_header_span { font-family: 'verb_regularbold',Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 18px; margin-left: 10px; } .text-links-grid { margin-top: 20px; width: 100%; } It is understood the new 3G facility will be used for training by Hull City's academy teams as the club look to improve their current Category Three youth development status, the lowest ranking of all Premier League sides. A spokesman for the SMC told the Mail yesterday: "While we understand that some groups will be affected by these improvements at the Airco Arena, the arena's staff are working closely with several venues, including Haltemprice Sports and Leisure Centre, which had a recent £7m makeover, in an effort to assist them." It's over a year since we decided to move to Bishop Burton to try and secure Level 2 status, we could have built one there by now.
If it needs to be done by April why didn't they start earlier? Would of thought Bishop Burton was the place for it, that's where the training center is. The club are investing the cost of the grass stuff, it's hardly a lot of money when getting the building for nowt. Creating jobs? how many? Over 100 young players will use it oh wow. how many will no longer be using it? It's unfortunate they are getting kicked out, but **** happens all the time. They'll get over it.
Bishop Burton said no according to The Casual's post. It appears they didn't like Allam's demands that went with the pitch. The Premier League have to approve an indoor pitch miles away from the academy. If they do it could be considered approval for the evictions. A multi-million pound Premier league club evicting other sports from a council owned facility may not be something they want on their CV. They may even reject our application because of the publicity. Then there's the City Council...
If we need an indoor 3G pitch to qualify as a category 2 academy, why have we gone all in with Bishop Burton without a prearranged agreement to build the ****er?! We should be building our own training ground/academy and just use the improved facilities of Bishop Burton as a temporary measure in the mean time. Worra cock up.
It seems to me that all this is designed to do is widen the chasm that exists between Allam and HCC. A kind of my cocks bigger than your cock, so I'll do what I want and see what you're going to do about it.
I look forward to HCC applying to the premier league for funding, to rehouse the evicted sports teams.
http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-32348063 A council has threatened to take legal action against the owners of Hull City after a synthetic pitch was laid in a sports arena by the club. Hull City Council said it had asked the club to remove the pitch after it was laid at the Airco Arena, on Walton Street, on Tuesday without permission. Clubs using the venue were told last month to vacate the building so the Tigers could use it for their academy. Hull City have been approached for a comment. The authority said it had written a letter to the Premier League side's stadium management committee notifying them it had breached its lease agreement with the council. Hull City previously said installing the new pitch would allow it to apply for a new academy status. Council leader Stephen Brady said: "The club have changed the use of the arena with scant regard for the impact on hundreds of people who use the facility day-in, day-out and the community sports clubs who are proud to call it their home. "It's on their behalf that we take this action today." Thousands of people signed a petition opposing Hull City's plans to install the pitch.
