Future for Mark?

  1. He will be replaced before the season ends

  2. He will stay and keep going

  3. He wont be given a new contract for next year

  4. Dr Marko has already ended Webber's seat, he's gone.

After hearing Mark refused to accept team orders towards the end, for the benefit of the "team" will this be the last time Mark is in a Red Bull for the season?

Has he become a ticking time bomb now? Ready to try and show up Vettel any chance he gets and wont let anybody get in his way to do it? Can Horner risk Webber putting himself above the "team" and ruin a good result for Sebastian? Is Dr Marko already in the background wealding his axe ready to finish what he started?

I hope not, I've got a lot of respect for Mark for ignoring it, something I felt Massa should've done in Germany. If he does leave I hope Hamilton goes to Red Bull and Kubica to McLaren. Obviously won't happen though.

I dont think Webber fits in with all this, too much of a im not letting Vettel on top of me even if hes driving better, he is going as far as i can see, whether its tomorrow or next year who knows.

I'm going to be daring here and say Webber's career is over starting from today. They'll let the mist settle and a week before Germany, BAM! Webber has been given the boot and will be replaced by somebody, who? havent got a clue yet...

I think they want a Massa in the other car, a faithful lieutenant, not a potential challenger. I hope they don't do something rash like dump Mark mid-season though, it would be pretty outrageous, not to mention transparently cynical. But Hell hath no fury like a Webber scorned.

You see the problem with Massa is that he is REALLY SLOW. They would struggle to win the WCC with Massa. look at today. Best car. Dominant Alonso win. Massa cant pass a hamilton with no fuel and it was only thanks to Buttons retirement that he was in the top 5.

:) Fair point but I was thinking more about his compliance.

:) Yes, great in theory but will he be as compliant? It's not easy balancing speed with obedience in a driver. I'm sure Rosberg has ambitions beyond lieutenant.

I'm sure Rosberg has ambitions beyond Mercedes and finishing in the lower points each race.

Well, is the grass greener? Mercedes have ambitions too and he could stay and be number one in a team which is aiming high for the future. Or he could go to Red Bull and have better results instantly but he'll have play second fiddle to Vettel. It's a risk either way, assuming he'd be offered the RBR drive, of course.

Indeed, but isn't this just the same decision that every driver has to make when contemplating a move regardless of which teams are involved? You can hope all you want that someone within your current team will come up with some huge design feature that will make the car a winner, like sticking with a girlfriend/boyfriend hoping that they are going to change but it comes to a point where you have to start making decisions. Nico is only 26 and so has plenty of years left probably but you can never know how something is going to turn out. Nico wants his first win and I think he know's that he's not going to get it at Mercedes any time soon.

Alonso won on skill, Massa is still pretty quick just getting ****ed over by Alonso being much better. Massa did pass then he got hit...

Well alonso set fastest laps over and over so yes i would say he had the best car. Webber held him up early on. The Red Bulls are still slower in the race than in qualifying but now there is a team close enough to capitalise.

Possibly, I still think it stinks that Daniel was put in a F1 seat at the same grand prix that Webber started to kick off about team orders. It just seems all too perfect covering their bases.

I also agree with Julius, no way is that Red Bull the dominant car without cold blowing.

Alonso's fastest lap was half a second quicker than Massa's though.

I think webber has had enough, even at Silverstone last year Red Bull helped Vettel by taking his front wing although Webber won the race. Watched highlights of today and no KERS issues for Vettel but more lies from horner so I think it is time for Webber has to move on. Red Bull are drinks company and really are only in the sport to earn more money, they are going to ruin racing for fans if they have team orders like this in future races.

So you're admitting Alonso doesn't have an extra six tenths =0

Is Massa getting better? or is Alonso getting slower?!?!?!
