Thought i'd put this up, apologies if it has already been covered. link to article where joe cole blames his poor form on lack of sleep ! : http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/257891/Joe-Cole-determined-to-stay-at-Liverpool hilarious (if he wasnt getting paid over 100k a year)
Welcome to the site Joe Cole has to leave unless he would be prepared to take a 75% pay cut. He is simply dead wood and the excuse of not enough sleep is laughable! BTW, you can edit the post if you realise you have made a mistake
Not saying it is truth or not, but seriously any of ye that have kids know ye are bolloxed after the first few months. I am only getting over it, boy is 4 months old and only now starting to sleep for longer periods at night. I was like a zombie and I didn't have to train every day. And if he's putting in a shift at home I can certainly repsect that, unlike someone who plays for a club up north who puts in shifts elsewhere when the baby was at home We'll see this season
I had no idea how much you earned determined how much you sleep. It's obvious that some players suffer some loss of form when they've had a kid. Seen it plenty of times. It could've had an effect, which was then compounded by not being selected and not getting the infamous "run of games". Anyway, Frank Arnesen wants him at Bayern so fingers crossed.
Yet another footballer, looking for an excuse..Why not just own up, and say "I was ****e, last season no excuses" I'd have more respect for him.
Being sheite is an end result, he's talking why the end result was poor, excuse or not. One is for sure he has to have more than he gave us last season surely
A fully fit and in form Joe Cole would be an enourmous asset to the club. But and it is a big but (about the size of my wifes butt so its a very big butt!!) does he have it in him to recover that level of skill.I kind of feel the same way about Cole as I did about Kewell in that I was always waiting for him to rediscover the genious he had at Leeds. In fairness to kewell there was the odd game, the odd flash of his old self.I think in all my time as a Pool fan Kewell was the player I was most excited about signing and the biggest let down. Now Cole is going the same way.I would like to see him stay just to prove us wrong but then his wages are a big drain and if it stops fresh blood coming in then maybe he should move on. Don't see what he earns having a bearing on his sleeping habits but understand where people are coming from..for 90k a week I would survive on no sleep and still give 110% in fact i'd do it for £9 grand...£900...nothing
Problem is 110% of even 75% rested is still short of 100%. You may give it all, but if you are not getting enough concurrent rest your 110% will be far below your fully rested maximum. You can operate on 4 hours of sleep, but you'll be nowhere near your best, need to increase fluid intake and calorie intake too if you are getting less sleep and the mind suffers more than the body with continued sleep disruption. No sharpness at all. It aint a case of will I'm afraid. Adolf will tell you where will alone gets you
yeah of course i understand all that but i sometimes wonder if all this money makes some players soft.If he was so sleep depraved surely the club would have done something to help..got skrtel to babysit or something. Anyway, whatever the reason he has much to prove if he stays and I for one would love to see him do it.
For **** sake thats the worst excuse i ever heard. People become dads everyday and if they were all to use Joes excuse the world would come to a stop. I didnt get any sleep. When my kid was born I was doing 12 hour days 5 days a week and 7 hours on a Saturday, couple that with night feeds and the rest of it. I was tired yes but it didnt really affect my work ( i managed to be part of building 12billion houses in a country with 4 million people)
Ye all sound like mancs, because yer sure of somethng it must be absolute truth. God forbid a player offer reasons for being poor performance wise So all of ye, tell us the real reasons he hasn't performed please?
Becauses he's **** Na seriously, he has an obligation to the club who pay him a massive wage to ensure he is in the best possible condition to play when called upon. Having a kid does not excuse sht form in no way at all.
Of course not, it aint what he or anyone else said either. What he mentioned plus getting sent off, whole team was poor for a good spell new owners new coach new setup lack of games new fkn team! can all mess with form, and of course we are all different people too and handle thngs differently. Yer all full of I'd do this I'd do that yet ye are all here posting on forums, sure with all that ambition and certainty in your comitment ye are all millionaires or pro something or others?. Try this please log in to view this image Pay, none of our concern, if Joe was on pay per play, what would it be then that disgusts ye all? And none of ye geniuses offered any explanations for the poor form, very easy to just sit there and type lies, but form for a lot of you
Reasons for poor form : As you stated : new team, injuries, pressure ? I didn't read the article as the OP say's he is blaming lack of sleep - that isn't really a good enough reason for his poor form IMO. Out of interest - what lies have people posted ?
No, people can state 'lies!' without knowing if any of it is true or not. Some without kids I would imagine. I aint or never said any of it is true nor was I ever a fan of Joe Cole, I'm devils advocate I honestly felt like a zombie some days when both my sons were born, I am saying it is certainly a possibility combined with all the other stuff and that all the comments of I'd f'n do it for 90k are just unrealistic, thats all. I'd much prefer to discuss what he could possibly offer us this season tbh
