United's conversion rate is better. In all seriousness, he looked like a donkey in the CL. Always more likely to be sent off than score. Luiz had him in his pocket at Stamford Bridge, which is impressive for a non-defensive defender.
Pretty hard to score goals when your manager has you penned back in your own half, defending a 1 goal lead against 10 men. His form in the CL is ****e because Jose sets us out not to lose, rather than to win. Which worked, technically we didnt lose either game. But lost the tie.
Carragher was right about Chelsea under Jose. They'll win stuff and be respected for being winners but the way they go about it ie gamesmanship and negative football will mean they'll never be loved. Jose's Chelsea are similar to Revie's Leeds.
To be fair to Jose he does have a pretty good record at avoiding defeat when assisted by the ref. He managed it with Porto in 2004 thanks to a wrongly disallowed goal, and with Real in 2013 thanks to another dodgy sending off. His luck with that strategy was always bound to run out sooner or later. I'm just amazed the failing was with his team's defensive ability rather than their ability to get the decision.
Just realised Torres is on the bench. That guy really did go from brilliant to **** almost overnight (overnight being several months out injured). Bit like Falcao. Shame really.
That second yellow card for Turan looked a bit soft. Referee enjoyed raising the red card though. Very dramatic, he must have practiced that.
We never were: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...et-boost-as-champions-league-seedings-amended Someone's showing how much they know about football again... The funniest thing is after all that Chelsea bragging about coefficients, they could end up as a top seed in a group with Real / Barca and PSG, whilst Utd as a second seed could be in a group with PSV or Zenit as the top seeds. The top of Mourinho's head would blow straight off Anyway the real losers from this chance are Arsenal - all that time spent carefully retaining the "top four and we got out of our group" trophy to keep up their coefficient, and suddenly the matters **** all! No wonder they're trying to launch a proper title challenge this year...
