Sir Henry Campbell Bannerman is Britain's first officially recognised PM; his predecessors were more often known as First Minister or First Lord of the Treasury.

I do believe the first person to be attributed with the title of PM was/is William Pitt the Elder; however, the title in those days was unofficial and little used.

It is safe to say the position of PM came into being during 1905.

Nope. We're discussing Britain not England. The first British parliament was formed after the merger in 1707.

As for England, it is true to label Simon de Montfort as the Godfather of the English Parliament - but he was never recognised as PM.

You are, of course, very welcome.
