Without being silly, any team that is set up wrong and gets mullered for 20 minutes non stop, gets rattled. That's how badly we were overrun by Villa.

It wasn't about power or anything else, it was simply that we could not get hold of the ball, keep it and move it about and build attacks as Rodgers had set us up to do.

By 20 minutes into the game the defence were proper rattled. When it's like that your speed of thought is affected, it seems like everything speeds up and feels like you have less time than you do. It does spread throughout the team, a kind of panic

Unfortunately we don't have Hamann type to sort **** out. He would have been just the player in that game

 

It doesn't matter how poor the players were (unless its a one off), the manager picks the team so the buck stops with him. However, I do think majority of people are being harsh on Brod. His transfers have been shocking and his stubbornness for certain player irritating but he's also shown he has the ability to become a quality coach/manager IMO. He should concentrate on what he does best; attacking football!

 

True Greez, his biggest letdown is the signings, which have let down the team.

Can is shoehorned into a defender role becaue of transfer failure when really he should be sitting in front of the back four and that was what we needed v Villa

He'd not a DM but he can retain the ball under pressure. We couldn't do that, that's my point, we were boxed in time and time again and our weakness in that slot allowed Skrtel and Lovren to have the **** scared out of them.

Lovren is in trauma councelling after that game

 

I'm not sure his style of ball retention is suited to DM / holding role either. When under pressure he tends to power his way out of trouble by running with the ball.

 

Can's pretty good at shielding the ball when he's not trapped against the side of the pitch at rb, he has that room in the middle

Lucas was injured so who else is there? that's my point.
