Off Topic Injury update 2022/2023

You don't want to see any player injured mate. I like Sturridge, he's a cracking player, but he's got Weetabix legs. Shame really.

 

When he was at Chelsea didn't he have a bit of a reputation for not wanting to play unless he was 100% fit. Bit like Saha who I thought was both a fantastic and infuriating player.

I give up with Sturridge. I know it's not his fault, but he can't be our main man anymore. We need a marquee striker this summer, it is essential.

Yeah he's definitely had that reputation. Saha was a real head doer, on his day he was World Class, but he could injury himself putting his socks on.

Big Duncan was another one who has the same rep. I remember Sir Bobby saying he gave up asking him, and just stuck his name on the team sheet.

Agree on Sturridge, he's not going to cut it as No. 1. Think he's all mouth and no trousers really and his injury-prone-ness doesn't help this. This really needs sorting out during the summer now. We need two quality strikers to come in who can play to our style, who score a lot, are strong and not injury-prone. Don't know if Origi can be one of those, not really seen enough of him and from what I've heard he's not been a stand-out kind of player. Sturridge will still have a place but I only see him as a rotational player due to how fragile he is. We need to sell Balotelli, Lambert and Borini (or as many of the 3 as poss). Anything less than this as regards the frontline and I'll seriously start to doubt the owners, board and Rodgers are able to take the club to where we all want it to be. The best.

Sturrudge can't play as lone striker no matter how much he wants to so buying a top striker is essential regardless of his injuries.

 

Ibe is back in light training... Still a little while until back in chill training but good to see him back.

Wouldbt mind seeing him played further up, maybe a bit early to play right up too, but he has the pace, movement, and skill to be able to play there. He is also a far better finisher than sterling.
