the atmosphere today was appalling, especially in the 2nd half. The only time there was any noise was when the lino made a few questionable calls (and then the ironic appaluse when he got a few right). The 'support' in the North Stand was non-existent, I think there were like 3 chants that people in that stand actually joined in with during the course of the entire game. At least the Fratton End was in voice during the first half.
Agree Lapras re. the atmosphere. We played fairly well in the first half, and had a few goalscoring chances, mainly from Jed Wallace. Thought young Ben Close was the pick of our midfielders. He looked very composed on the ball, and most of his passes found team mates - unlike Nigel Atangana and Danny Hollands. Thought that the other young midfielder who came on for him - Adam May - looked useful as well. Gary Waddock as our next manager ? No thank you
Don't worry Wooperts, Gary Waddock won't even be in the reckoning. Not with the list of people coming out of the woodwork now.
You can have my warm support anytime, SB3. Just make sure you return it promptly when you've finished laundering it
Shock News- new Pompey Coach announced. Not as Posh as Saints, admittedly, but should suffice. MOT runs until end of May.
Southampton didn't buy one with a left hand drive did they? May not be needed if they did. Sturrock has managed Yeovil for 3 games with players who were already doomed to relegation. 7 points out of 9. He knows how to get a result in these leagues. You should have snapped him up when he was free. Watch Yeovil bounce next season....
News today. Mark Catlin says that a "superior calibre" of manager has applied for the vacancy this time - whatever that means - and 60 to 70 serious application have been made, but Phil Brown is rumoured to be on the verge of signing a three year contract at Southend so he is unlikely to be one of them: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...re-managers-showing-pompey-interest-1-6698123
Can't help thinking Paul Cook might be a good fit. In many ways their past doesn't matter too much - it's whether they are a good fit with the club they're at. Tisdale is another who might be okay as well, not sure how far up he could take us though. SB3 is another who would be a good fit
Harry Redknapp rules himself out of the running: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/harry-redknapp-rules-out-pompey-return-1-6690520 Harry it is then
Superior calibre? What, bigger than .22? Presumably because they are likely to be fired at some point.....

Sadly*, Mods can't edit on other boards. I will have to hope a kind Pompey Mod will delete the duplicate- thank you BT Broadband! *fortunately for SB3
