Off to sunny Brighton for the season opener tomorrow. Doesn't look the highest quality fare, but will have a cracking day whatever happens. Anyone see anything worthy of an investment?
Two Minds been smashed into early in that Embankment race as well, opened 25's..into 12's in places now.
You should have said Don I would have booked half a day off work to take the ride !!! Cheers Stick, if that's the case each way will do as he's a good price just for the place
Wexford also race anti - clockwise for the first time tomorrow. There had been too many deaths occurring at the last fence/hurdle there, as they come down a steep descent and then meet the jump on a slight incline which made it hard to adjust and sadly a lot of horses met there maker there so not before time they have decided it safer to run left handed where they won't meet that fence on an incline. Hope all goes smoothly.
Morning, pilgrims. Hope everyone well. Cor blimey, how good was dear old Tataniano yesterday??? I don’t mind admitting that seeing the old boy back in the old ‘Winners Enclosure’ led to me wailing like a military man who had just met Her Majesty. One of the highlights of the 2014/15 NH season for me. Re Taylor, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, today (4.05 Exeter). I see she’s eased in the market slightly to 1/20. Good luck, troops.
If I can be serious for a minute, crew, there’s a very interesting one been put in the ‘Chester Cup’. Mr Henderson has entered his high class novice hurdler CARDINAL WALTER. He’d run off 90 which would appear reasonable given that back in ’12 he was a very decent young staying handicapper for Dave Simcock (placed in the Melrose and at ‘Glorious Goodwood) and has undoubtedly been improved since by the forum’s favourite trainers brilliant brain and ‘magic hands’. He would though need a few above him to come out to guarantee a run (but a perch of 90 has been enough to get into the last 2 runnings of the race). Mr Henderson has also put in ROYAL IRISH HUSSAR but he’s had a very disappointing campaign over timber in 14/15.
The card at Exeter today is frankly shocking. Three two horse races!! That's not serious sport. Just saying....
Wexford 4.00-moonunderwater 7/2 win.Should ho very close even though they race anti-clockwise for the first time.In the race before that I'm taking solita to score at 9/4 Luis Suarez is in great form at the moment and can be first to find the back of the onion bag v PSG at 9/2
Great run Don, I think the jumping cost him as he clattered a few but he travelled really well and he's earned his break
Thanks Boil He might not have a break now if hes come out of it well, try and pick up a weak hurdle or even a novice chase as he was carrying a bit of condtion and we hope the run willl improve him as hes not had a proper race for some time he should still be pretty fresh. Also tongue tie next time possibly as he took a while to pick up in the home straight.
Good news mate, he definitely enjoyed that more and battled on well so it was good to see that he hasn't developed a quirk as such by throwing strops. A novice chase would be good to see as he travels so well over 3m.
EMBANKMENT blows the start again! Nice run from Double Czech although front running there does rather set it up for the closers!
Got to feel for the bloke doing the Racing Post text commentary on the 4.05 Exeter: Taylor leads little change Taylor going well Saras Ruby lies second Taylor by 4l Saras Ruby lies second Taylor leads Saras Ruby lies second Taylor going well Saras Ruby lies second Taylor by 5l Saras Ruby lies second Taylor by 6l Saras Ruby lies second Taylor leads
But he does have a sense of humour: 3 out Taylor by 3l Saras Ruby lies second Taylor going well 2 out Taylor by 5l Saras Ruby lies second final hurdle Taylor over and clear Taylor wins a thriller
