yes he does that against the top teams. Against united this and last season at OT he played a defensive formation. Moyes's team was gash and the early tentative LVG managed to get a draw as well.

But against the RS, Jose sucked idiot Brenda into attacking his park the bus formation when all they really needed was a draw to win the title. And Jose needed a win to really have a chance.

I think regardless of what system you play it is inevitable that a good side like United are going to have some chances. Even without committing much to attack, we scored, hit the woodwork ourselves plus had a couple of promising attacks break down with poor final balls etc and De Gea was lucky with the handball which came from another breakaway.

Good sides will always create chances but Jose has found / devised a system he likes to play in these games which limits and frustrates the opposition, leads to errors etc,

I completely agree there are narrow margins with these things. I bemoaned our approach v PSG but could see why we set up like that at the weekend. Different circumstances, opponents etc but it works more than it hasn't these last 2 years. The PSG result ultimately was decided on a very late winner and we lost on away goals.

Whether by luck or design, how many times have Chelsea actually been behind in any of these big games in the last 2 seasons under Jose? Hardly ever. Meaning we don't have to come out an attack ourselves that much which is just as much our opponents' failings as our own tactics.

Like you say Rooney nearly scored. Had he done so it would have been an entirely different game I suspect.

You didnt let us have the ball. You simply couldn't get it off us. In the first half yiu struggled to string two passes together never mind anything else. As stated, the goal came from a foul that wasnt given but besides that, nothing.

You can try and convince yourself otherwise, but watching your lot chase shadows was fun (for a time at least).

Not as much fun as watching Rooney bemoaning Di Maria giving the ball away or another LVG meltdown post match. Least he kept his charts at home....<laugh>

Has LBLouis managed to find his way out of Jose's pocket yet?

Has your sole playmaker, Fellaini, managed to get away from Zouma?

You two seem desperate. Perhaps you are not as convinced by your team as you like to think.

You will understand when you play a side off the park. Wont be for a while yet though so you dont need to panic just yet.

At least you witnessed some good football at the Bridge for once though. A pleasant change from watching anything but football :)

Enjoy your one title in 5 years though. You never know how long it is til the next one.

And have Fabregas or Matic found yet? <whistle>
