Both Rooney and Falcao missed a couple of good chances. Chelsea took there chance we didnt thats the main thing. We finish 4th at worse this season. cant wait for the summer when the check book comes out lol.
The truth is (and plenty of Chavs won't like hearing this) you look at how the season has gone, we are where Chelsea were 12 months ago, and given the amount we'll spend in the summer and our rate of progress, will likely be ahead of them 12 months from now
Remarkably close to where they are tbh. They won the CL in 2012, spent £200 million in total over the next two seasons, and finished 3rd with no trophies in Mourinho's first season We won the PL in 2013, spend £200 million in total over the next two seasons, and look like finishing 3rd with no trophies in LVG's first season Always amuses me how quick Chelsea fans are to point out how we've spent all that money to finish 3rd
I think (as always) they're getting their laughs in early Their manager and fans know that as a club we'll always be self-sufficient, never be tied by FFP, and in the long run (give it 12 months) that's what will stifle Chelsea.
NOOOOOO you lot ain't got a clue. Remember we can't get the worlds elite players with no champions league football and we are just a mid table team now who won't get Champions League football for years to come Well I hope they enjoyed having a laugh while they could. Everyone always seems to also forget Chelsea finished 6th not that long ago its only by pure luck they fluked that park the bus tactic in the Champions League for a full season that saved them
You could give Maureen £1billion and messi ronaldo Rodriguez and zlatan and he would still park the bus. It is much easier to do that and steal the points instead of playing football. He had no excuse. Our defence was makeshift and they were at home. Disappointing but not unexpected
You spent £223m gross, £170m net and finished seventh and maybe third, fourth or second on a max of 83 points. No title challenge, playing part-time with no European football as a distraction. http://www.transferleague.co.uk/manchester-united/english-football-teams/manchester-united-transfers We spent £223m, £54m net to finish third and then third again with 82 points (four points off the top, you are 10)/ Mounting a strong title challenge whilst playing European football reaching a semi final. http://www.transferleague.co.uk/chelsea/english-football-teams/chelsea-transfers Hope you can see the difference now
Why take only the last 2 years and not 3 or 4 ? then you'll include one title and less annual expenditure? You can prove anything you want if you choose the right stats
Morning all. No doubt it's all been said (to death)...disappointing result but encouraging performance. How many champions have ever had less than 30% possession in any home game?! Jose's tactics were a compliment to United, he knows that we are now the better footballing side and there was no point in trying to play us hence parking two buses. Give Jose credit, he knows his team's limitations and he doesn't care about entertaining anyone but himself so he got the job done. Had Carrick been fit and Rooney been up front then it could have been a different outcome but I'm sure the Chavs will argue that had Costa been fit then they would have played football! Couple of tweaks and this could be a very good and entertaining United side that will go into next season with a lot of confidence.
I just wondered whether this season's champions could be one of the worst in recent history. To treat United as Barca is very flattering but FFS everyone could see there was no need. United had a make shift defence and mid field. Blind Jones and Rojo and Carrick, one of our recent successes and playmaker injured. And Rooney had to play in midfield. To park 2 buses against such a team?? Ridiculous. Poor champions in a poor season.

We are already ahead of them on footballing terms. Its not even close either. We have swapped roles. Chelsea started really well, were in great form and the best team around. That was something Jose couldnt and wouldnt tolerate. Chelsea playing football. So he reverted to type. This season hes got away with it but last season it cost chelsea the title. The chavs will lap it up but whem you have rarely seen football of quality, how would you know any better?
Yes. I can clearly see you admitting Chelsea are a small club who can only survive by selling players. Good of you to finally get with the program #netspend #smalltime
We won and you lost. Champions are champions whichever way you spin it. If you were better than us you would be top. It ain't rocket science.
Not quite. The better side doesn't always win. See champions league final 2005, 2012 and europa league final in 2003 and 2013.
Over a 38 game season though? The best team wins through, especially when there is, what, an 11 point gap between us? AND we have a game in hand! Its not like you are running us close.
Not quite. The better side doesn't always win. See champions league final 2005, 2012 and europa league final in 2003 and 2013.
And CL 1999.
That's your view and you are entitled to it. But instead of moaning about being the victims of antifootball, maybe you should look at your manager. He spent £150m, has the best bench going according to UIR. Why no plan B when plan A: goal kicks and diagonal long balls to Fellaini would not work. Surely a manager of LVG's stature should be able to make some changes. You never looked like scoring
I am not saying anything new. Others have already alluded to it when all the premiership clubs got dumped out of the CL. That this is a poor premiership season, with the standard of football lower than usual. Chelsea are the best of a poor bunch. Arsenal and United are much better now than they were in the first half of the season. And there is no doubt in my mind that both teams are currently better than Chelsea. That does not mean that Chelsea are not deserved champions. You have to play well and get points over the whole season. United and Arsenal played poorly and lost many points in the early season and cannot therefore grumble. Like Mourinho himself stated very clearly" For him football is about points". It will not bother him that his team is not as good as Arsenal or United. They hoover points more efficiently and in that respect deserved to be champions. Same as City last year. I had said many times that the best team in the league by a long distance was...Chelsea. they had beaten all the top clubs but were some how not very efficient at gathering points. Lost against small clubs. This year, Jose rectified that
