I'm sure Mourinho would call it pragmatism. But yes, they can be very boring. To be fair to Mourinho, he has never claimed to be in the entertainment business.

The spirit of George Graham lives on!...

Boring, cynical, horrible. The best team in the country should play with flair and a swagger.

When growing up in Portugal, Mourinho must have spent a lot of time watching Boycott bat. Effective, but tedious.

Sometimes you need to play like that so its no bad thing. Just at other times you need to play like a team on top of the league.

2010 remains their best title. Not that Chelsea fans will care.

I wasnt praising them. They rarely do the bit about playing like the team top of the league.

Garth Crooks picks four Chelsea players in his team of the week whilst conceding that they played crap <doh>

But they were dogged. So it's alright then.

There must be plenty of weeks when he can pick Chelsea players when they've played well. This wasn't one. If you want to pick dogged players, pick the Burnley team every week.

Of course they care. The genuine ones. Not those who discovered Chelsea existed in 2003 <whistle>

I can't see why people have an issue with Chelsea playing the way that they do to be honest, they are one of the few teams around who can actually defend so who cares if they use their solid defence to grind out some results, personally I think people should appreciate how good they are defensively and give them some credit rather than complaining that they aren't playing like Brazil to win the title. It's not like they haven't played any good football this year, they played some wonderful football particularly in the first half of the season, they haven't been as good since christmas but it shows how good a team they are that they have been able to carry on grinding out results while not playing at their best. The idea that not playing free flowing attacking football week in week out somehow means that they don't deserve to win the league is ridiculous to me.

Well you are from Grimsby so thats understandable <whistle>, for me football is an entertainment business but if I cant get to sleep i put a Chelsea match on and that seems to work.

Yes I live in Grimsby and I support Sunderland a combination which means I don't see too much good football when I get to games so I know boring football when I see it and Chelsea are far from the most boring team around. Football is an entertainment business but at the same time it's a results business, they might not be the most easy on the eye or entertaining team in the league but they are best in terms of results at the same time they are far from the least entertaining side in the league.

I care, but you can't really complain about something thats working and wins you titles in my opinion. People are only complaining now becuase we did it in the 2nd half of the season. Up until December we were by far the most entertaining side in the league.

Exactly why people are questioning it.

Suggests Jose has little faith in your players abilities when the pressure is on.
