More worrying, is that the sum of our ambition? 50k for finishing 12th and a year extra contract for scoring 12 goals (why not higher position, why not 20 goals). **** me, how low can we get. Even ****ing Brentford are binning their manager because he has only got them "challenging" for the playoffs. BRENTFORD!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if we got an owner that could just pay off the debt we should be in contention with the money we generate!!
Then two days before his hearing in regards to being found guilty and banned Cellino had a meeting with GFH which he stated himself as being more important than the hearing/ban". He came away from saying he had secured a £20m cash injection - So where is it?
But no owner will ever pay off the debt. It's not the way they work. They'll organised some sort of loan with interest. When they sell on after a couple of years that all becomes repayable. If we're waiting for some sort of sugar daddy to clear all the debt from his own pocket, were in for a hell of a wait
Eire, you're right, but I hope for an owner in for the long term, not one after a quick buck. One that converts the debt to equity (if I've got the term right). We just seem to attract people that wants to milk the club.
Just a quick note about Brentford: they're not 'binning' Warburton for only challenging for the play offs, he was told by the hierarchy that as of next season they're utilising a Director of Football who has the final say on all transfers. The chairman was happy to keep Warburton on if he was happy to work under that regime, but he's not, so he's leaving. 15 was Ajose - it was driving me mad too!
Fair enough, I fully accept that. The point was that even they are thinking with more ambition than us. Whether their decision turns out to be right or wrong, what we'd consider to be a small team are not settling for the playoffs. Where as we are handing out bonuses for 12th.
OK, you're right. They were all faking, & the Physio & Redders are all part of the conspiracy to ... to ... to .......... to do what, exactly?
OFFICIAL statement from the club - or do youpreferto believe the redtops & runour sites? http://www.itv.com/news/calendar/up...ands-by-medical-assessment-of-missing-stars/? LUFC: Club stands by medical assessment of missing stars Leeds United have released a statement over the absence of six of their foreign stars from Saturday's game away to Charlton. please log in to view this image Press Association Italian quartet Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Dario del Fabro and Marco Silvestri, Frenchman Souleymane Doukara and Albanian Edgar Cani all told beleaguered head coach Neil Redfearn they were injured and could not travel to London. Leeds United Football Club wants to clarify that during the days leading up to the away Championship fixture at Charlton Athletic on Saturday April 17 that six first team players suffered injuries. While our first team squad did not train on Wednesday, after the Norwich City fixture the night before, the club were aware that several players were carrying injuries after the game. The first team squad and management returned to training on Thursday and Friday when these injuries were assessed by the club’ s medical team. Upon assessment of the players, the medical team decided to take caution and on Friday six players did not finish the full training session. Every member of the Leeds United squad receives first class treatment from the club’s head physio and his team at Thorp Arch. It was the medical team’s view from Thursday onwards that some first team players would struggle to be fit for Saturday’s game at Charlton. It was declared that the six players were unavailable to travel to London on Friday, the club needs to protect its assets. The club completely stands by the internal medical recommendations that it receives. – LEEDS UNITED It comes as former Leeds captain, Trevor Cherry, branded the six United players who withdrew at short notice a 'disgrace' and called for them to be sacked by the club.
After the Norwich game SEVERAL players were carrying injuries after the game Now the only problem with that little line is that out of the 6 players, only 1 of them (goalkeeper) played 90 minutes. Antennucci played for 19 minutes and touched the ball 3 times - the other 4 didn't play at all - only the really gullible will believe that tripe
A very selective quote out of context. The paragraph is simply pointing out that there was no training session on the Wednesday for the injuries to be reported, hence it was on Thursday it was reported. Poor effort again, TC. Must ry harder if you want to wite for the redtops.
Hey'up Kiwi, Your fee quotes seem to be fairly spot on, I'm not 100% sure cos I haven't checked the Skysports transfers page which seems to confirm your quotes are fairly accurate...... If I remember rightly, two players were actually bought after coming in on loan so we could sign a couple of others on loan because of the number of loanees we're allowed to have, Duke was one but I can't remember who the other was. The question of "where's all money gone" is asked by many, the truth I think is, it's a question that will just go round in circles as we the fans are not really privy to that info and, LUFC have no legal commitment to inform the fans of every quid spent, so I doubt we'll ever have the answers. I have to take an opposing view on Bianchi, again it's down to personal perception, but Bianchi has done a good job when he's played; granted he needed a couple of games to find his feet, but so did other players, and not just the Cellino signings. When I've seen Bianchi play he's been pretty solid, yes he had a couple of under par games, but so have other players, and more regularly it seems. Bianchi is very good at breaking up opposing attacks, he has good passing skills and gets stuck in with tackles and clearances, basically he's a quiet achiever that doesn't seek out plaudits. Bianchi's natural position is attacking midfielder, but Redders instructed him to stay back, so he was shackled to a certain extent. Some say they don't follow stats, but stats are generated by performances and opta seem to be very good and close to accurate. For me Bianchi was another victim of Redders midfield selections which, considering the way our present midfield allow the opposition to run through'em, was a bad move. Whether you yourself follow stats or not, just have a look at the links below out of curiosity, I think you'll be surprised. They're obviously up to when the game he got injured http://www.squawka.com/players/tomm...eason-2014/2015#127#all-matches#1-23#by-match http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...ate-passer-in-the-championship-this-s/page/1/ https://www.the-newshub.com/football/leeds-uniteds-tommaso-bianchi-continues-to-gleam http://throughitalltogether.sbnatio..._ga=1.26853117.1331295945.1429496479#comments http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/12/31/leeds-united-9-stats-you-need-to-know-this-season/page/1/ I may have have overdone it with the links a bit....
Wholly agree about Bianchi. You forgot to mention his off the ball work, which was quite outstanding. He reminded me very much of Gary McAlister. As I recall, it was only Doukara that was signed from loan, & at the last mnute to facilitate a signing that failed to happen on the last day of the window.
Silvestri's Dad is contradicting the party line.... User Actions Following please log in to view this image Adam Pope@APOPEY #lufc Marco Silvestri's dad Claudio on Facebook defends his son & Antenucci over injuries. He thinks the other 4 " made a stupid protest." The problem with Massivego is that when you tell the truth as much as he does and do so with so many contradictory ltruths then eventually one of those truths was going to get him
hey'up dbc, is any owner totally honest with the fans. Do you think the same could be said about Redders?
"What you have got is a consumate professional trying to do the best job he can despite the environment that Cellino, Umbers and Salerno have created around him. By not strengthening in the positions you needed, by signing players you didn’t want, by sacking his coaching staff and continually undermining his position… Somehow a selection of players protesting their lack of involvement is Reddfern’s fault?"
I agree with you TC.....absolute embarrassing. I wouldn't believe press releases, the club are hardly going to say that the players weren't injured. Anyway only the keeper was getting his game.
TC, with respects, I personally don't for one minute believe that 6 players, all Cellino signings woke up simultaneously on a Friday morning and all said, at same time, it's a good day for a revolt, I just won't believe it. On the other hand, if it is a revolt, and I say if, then there has to be a very very good reason for 6 players, 2 who start regularly, 1 who comes on as a sub and 3 who don't get picked at all to step outside the boundaries and hold a personal revolt; problem everyone has, both for and against Cellino or Redders is A, no one has, or can produce any factual evidence to support there was a revolt, therefore it's pure speculation and scapegoating and B, what would a top class keeper, and a very good defender starting regularly, and our top scorer as a substitute have to gain; by all accounts, don't they have everything to lose? Many want to point the finger at Cellino, again, all speculation with no actual evidence. There is a wide gap between dislike and hatred; many are speaking through their emotional frustrations which can, and does override the ability to reason. Then there are those who hate Cellino with a passion, they need Cellino to be either the culprit, or the scapegoat to justify pointing their hate filled fingers at him, and these people don't care which it is. A letter was released by Leeds United stating the players were injured or carrying niggling injuries, prior to that an article quoted another letter from Leeds United which stated what type of injuries each player was carrying, Redders was quoted in an article as saying he himself was informed by the physio/s of the injured players, and from memory, he used the plural word. People are entitled to disbelieve any or all of the above letters and statements, but I'm sure no one on this forum, or in the wide fanbase would take to kindly to being falsely accused and/or having false stories made up about them. TC, no malice intended, but you called Redders a consummate professional, yet you are a Millwall fan, but still entitled to your opinions on this forum. Below is a small para on what consummate professional means. complete or perfect; supremely skilled; superb: a consummate master of the violin. 5. being of the highest or most extreme degree: a work of consummate skill; an act of consummate savagery. Many, for or against Redders will not agree with the above meaning. My personal opinion is, Redders has dug his own grave, I've given my reasons on this forum so I won't go into it again. While we can all agree that the off field shenanigans are unwanted, what I seem to be seeing is many, if not all of the fanbase shouting and screaming for stability, yet many are making false accusations, summising and speculating that Cellino is to blame, he's the one ripping our club off, he's the one who's going to sink us, etc etc, yet it's these people themselves who are believing everything the media write, mostly without evidence just for a story to create unrest and division amongst the fans, which then creates another story. The fans then echo what the media write and before you know it many of the fans are creating instability amongst themselves by believing and enhancing the contribution to so called instability created by the media. So while we may have instability at the club, both on and off the field, we also have instability amongst the fans created by the media, and then highlighted by the fans.
