Short memories Hash, I'm afraid the long ball didn't work for the fat Spanish waiter in his last season. It's a special skill only the best managers can master. I'm just disappointed we didn't need it when we played you on our way to that top 3 trophy :(

It worked well for Brendan last season, give the ball to Stevie so he can hoof it into the corners for the fast lads to chase <ok>

<laugh> That was a cornerstone of Fergie's united for years. Runners in the channels to hit with long balls

Pity you are not old enough to remember :bandit:

We played the ball "down the line" not hoof it into space for the fast lads <whistle>

I know this is a tongue in cheek t
Id happily have rafa back. He has a plan a b c. Currently we dont know what we are doing. He is one of the best managrrs going and he wants to manage us. No brainer gor me

Was a great manager who has sadly not got the recognition he deserves. Even now on threads there are those who just keep trotting out his gross spend to 'prove' how sh@t he was. They fail to look at the broader context of the restraints he was under, what he inherited, and how well he did in Europe. Yes Rafa, did not do as well as we all wanted in the League, but then all he could afford was a very good eleven, with not much else for back up.

With all that said, I think that ship has sailed. It is clear that FSG see a young, charismatic manager as the way forward. Also I feel Rafa would be better off staying away; the squad he will inherit here is a poor squad for the way he sets his teams up, all that would happen is he will be judged very unfairly in trying to turn this shambles of a squad around, and yet again he will have little in the way of funds to do so, its a bigger task than he faced when he took over from Houllier no doubt about that! He will risk what good feeling he still has left with knowledgeable fans, for what is a tough gig. I think he would jump at the chance, but FSG will go for another 'salesman'.

Rafa would be mad to come back. He could do without the melt. He's a good man.

Being serious though, I think something is already going on in the background. We are a club that always finishes strongly, yet here we are falling apart in March. I wonder if the team already know David Brent is going, or know he will go, if he doesn't get top 4 and FA cup, and are making that happen. It really seems strange that we are misfiring to this extent, for no reason.

I think David Brent has to go, or he has to come out and blame the real culprit for the following list:
Lambert - Why buy him, if he is too old and **** to get a game?
Balotelli - Why buy him, if he is too barking mad to follow instructions?
Hendo, Turtle & bong boy - ****ty contract situation, who let them drag on like this - unless we don't want them?
Mankilla - failure or not given a fair crack?
Joe Allen - Keeps getting a game?
Borini - no one told him to **** off at Christmas - Who gave him false hope - who then makes his life hell for not going?
Moreno - after almost a full season he is keeping his arms behind his back
Sturridge - went to the US to sort out his injury....and what?
David Brent taking a mid season holiday in Rome with his new Bird? I mean....???!!!???

Bong Boy.....pmsl :emoticon-0102-bigsm but who's turtle?

What's wrong with keeping your hands behind your back when? He only does it when he's in his own penalty area which makes sense to me.

Restricts yor movement. Just keep them by your side in a natural position and if it hits them then it's not handball.

Mignolet
Manquillo Skrtel Sakho Enrique
Can Lucas
Coutinho Henderson Moreno
Sturridge

Like it?

You mean sturridge who has played a good two games all season? useless crock of **** now tbh
I'm not sure how great coutinho is on the wing, although I like that you've opted to drop scrote-bag sterling.

I like the idea of bringing back 2 solid cdms though, it's definiately a Rafa formation. Reservations over Manquillo on the right though, seeing as coutinho will offer little protection.

He would, I don't think there will ever be a time for him to come back. The time was right after Kenny imo, said at the time, the squad was still largely his and with Suarez he could have done some great business.
