Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and striker Nicklas Bendtner are in talks with unnamed clubs over moves away from the Emirates.

Could it be us that is interested in Bendtner? We have said that brucie is playing his cards close to his chest on the Striker issue.

I have mixed feelings about this, on his day he can be unplayable ..... and on an off day a bit like Kenwyn, just dissappears. Could Bruce get the best out of him?

You are not alone kidda. I too think this lad has a lot of quality. He is much better than KJ IMO and would be a welcome addition. I work with an Arsenal fan who thinks very highly of him as well and although he may not be a top 4 player, again we are nowhere near a top 4 club either and he thinks we would be an ideal club for him. I agree.

I'd like to add at this point that I have received no messages about him being anywhere near Seaham Hall Hotel, or indeed anywhere else for that matter? Lol

I see Mr Inane Ninja is back amongst us.
And! He us still as thick as pigs ****. <ok>

I like Bendtner and said this before I don't think he has had a fair crack of the whip for the Gunners.
Even when he is playing well he was never sure whether he would start the next match.
I also don't think the way they play is conducive to his own style.
Numerous times he would be wide open for a pass and Arsenal would still try and walk the ball into the net.
Thats when his head would drop and you could see his interest in a game leave him. (Lets not forget he's still only 23.)

I'd be all for this player, given the correct club, could be a star....

Got a cracking header on him..And only young still.

I agree with Cestriamackem. Bendtner is not a top 4 player but he is a very good player for a team looking to get into europe as we are. Would be a very decent signing and is still very young.

I would certainly like to see him playing for us, but I read late last night that it is Benfica that are in discussions with him.

    "NEXT!"

I would definately take him, a decent run of games and he could really take off.

Bendtnar would be a better partner for Gyan than Defoe, who would probably be a repacement for Gyan not a partner.

me too, if he gets a full and consistent run in a team, he'll get goals. Wouldn't be a bad signing, he's at the right age that he can improve as well.

No doubt about it Bendtnar is a good player and on his day can be awesome. Just think he is a bit of a prima donner who actually thinks he is better than what he is. For me not the right type of player for SAFC

are you lads talking about the same Bentner who played for Arsenal last season, cos from what ive seen of him he couldn't light up a firework even under his arse, if he was any good playing in a team of accurate passers, he should have excelled even Arsen don't recon him.

Bendtner played at Birmingham under Bruce, alongside Larsson. He is not a bad player, but not anywhere near as good as Bendtner himself thinks he is. Bendtner probably thinks that Barcelona should sign him and play him ahead of Messi, so I doubt that he would consider Sunderland as worthy of his talents.
